Hey guys,

I was running my Savage out today and after I hit a jump, my servo pretty much stood still. I had it at full throttle to try and control my jump, and once it landed it stayed at full throttle. The steering was working fine too. The only way I could stop the truck was to flip in onto its shell. I was too scared to go run to it because of the possibility of the piston flying out of the case. But once I ran to it, the conrod of my near new OS30 snapped. Anyways, after I was able to get my Savage, I tried looking at the steering. It feels like the servo died, but it had the resistance of a servo when on. Maybe the motor died? If someone can share their knowledge, I would be grateful. Thanks!

Couldn't say. Have had quite a few servos die over the years. Sometimes the gears crap out, sometimes the motor stops working, some times the electronics in it go haywire. Usually when the gear crap out, you still hear the motor spin, but nothing moves. When the electrics crapped out, one didn't respond at all and a few others would go in one direction fine, but not the other, or they would just wander to one side or the other on their own with minimal torque.

I'd first try plugging it into your steering port on your receiver to rule out a receiver problem.

I figured it out lol. I'm pretty sure the throttle servo unplugged from the failsafe. I plugged it in directly into the receiver and it worked, worked fine plugged into the failsafe too. I had that wire very exposed to rocks, so I think a rock was able to knock it loose. Thanks for the info though! Will definitely come in handy if another servo breaks on me.
