what are YOU cooking this year??

well my turkey is injected, rubbed, coated, canned, filled, and on the smoker as we speak. I'm going to do a spin on the old "Beer can chicken" thing and smoke the turkey with apple wood, and a yam can in it with apple juice. i also shoved a whole apple in the neck to keep the steam in.

we are also having a ham, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, a pecan pie, stuffing, and whatever else others bring. plan on having a big group of family and friends that didnt really have anywhere to go, so looking at about 10 people.

Will post pics of the bird when its done about 2ish.

I guess dinner must be on its way. I just got an anonymous call from someone with a deep New York accent telling me my goose was cooked and he'll be here in 30 minutes or less.
I'll leave the door unlocked for him.

I made the turkey this year(traditional oven-roasted),along with sweet potato bake and my wife made homemade rolls and zuchini caserole. My mother-in-law made mashed potatos with giblet gravy,corn caserole,stovetop stuffing and cranberry sauce.

Then for dessert I made a pecan pie,my wife made pumpkin pie,my sister brought butterscotch pie and my mother-in-law made a frozen cranberrysalad.

I think that covers it all I'm too stuffed to remember anything else :yes:
