Well I burned a qt of Werks today. First thing was none of my engines would even start. They were all broken in and tuned with OD. I killed the one way in the STS and broke the roto plate on the Picco tring to start them. Once I realized that the engines are set so rich with this new fuel, I leaned the needles 1 full turn on the HSN and 1/2 turn on the LSN on my LRP 28 and 32.
I still had to lean them a bit more after I ran them a bit.

Compared to Odonnells, first thing I noticed was a completely different smell. I hate to say it, but it smells a lot like Blue Thunder. It burns a lot cleaner as well. Just getting it started on my work bench, I could run it for a while without choking. If I ran my trucks with Od's my eyes burned and I was chocking in 2 min. There was no oil slick all over my bench that I was used to seeing with Od either.

Performance: top end was a bit faster than Od's, but a lot crisper. Throttle respose seemed a lot quicker and run times were longer. I'd say roughly 2mph top end gain and another 2-3 min on a tank. These are est. only. I have to get my Savage fixed to do a comparison run on GPS. My Revo was vert impresssive. Wheelies at mid throttle with 18/36 gearing. LRP.28 was screaming on the top end. Ran two 220cc tanks rhrough it without killing the engine with no overheating.

The EK4 with the LRP.32 got 4 tanks put through it also. It was harder to find the sweet spot with the .32 than the .28. I didnt hear the high revs that I got with the .28, but I think that was the engine, nothing to do with fuel. I can't wait to see how the ERCM Piccos do with the fuel.

All and all I'm impressed with the fuel. The only complaint I have is the quality of the bottles. They dont seal nearly as well as the Od qts did. The Box they came in showed signs of leakage. I think they got hot and every bottle lost a couple of ounces out of the top as evidenced by the residue by each cap. I put a ziplock bag under every cap and tightend them tight. I can squeeze the bottles as hard as I can now with no air leaking out.

I went thru 2 gallons of odonnells speed blend and i agree about smell. Its strong and will choke you up when its facing you on the tailgate or pit row. I'm on a gallon of 25% macy's race fuel now in my truggy w/lrp.28 and a gallon of Byrons 25% race blend in my tmaxx w/picco .26. The smell is not as strong as the 20 od. I have always liked byron fuels but this is the first time I've ran the race2500 blend. I like it so far better than the macy's anyways. I dont know what it is but the macys just seems to be more difficult to tune with. Plus I've done burnt up 2 plugs since starting to use the macys in my lrp. Temps good and no cutting out under throttle at all. Performance is great but yet it burnt another plug yesterday. So i stuck a mccoy mc59 power plug in it(hot) and richened it up 1/4 turn on the hsn and it ran great. Since my lhs carries Byrons i believe i will be sticking with it unless the run out and i just have to make the 90 mile one way drive to the hobbytown in columbus ga. They only carry odonnells. But at $26 a gallon i will buy 4 gallons at a time.
