And luckily they closed the registers 'cause I was about to walk out with one of these. lol

The San Jose HTUSA has a bi-weekly indoor 1.9 comp and my friend Ted from DHR let me drive his MRC. I gotta say initially from standing around and watching it didn't look very exciting, but about a minute after I actually started driving one I was hooked. I was completely amazed at what these little buggers can do. It was also both challenging and relaxing at the same time. To me, the controls are also completely counter intuitive but I guess that's what makes it so challenging.

I know what Santa is bringing me for Christmas. :hehe::D

see its addicting...i knew u would like one

Badger from RCC was there and he had a live web cam going. I ducked out right before they started filming.

There was also a guy that had a sweet looking scaler with a ladder frame and no shocks. I think it had a leaf spring suspension?!?! I was amazed that thing could crawl almost as well as the MRCs.

i think u would be happier with a 2.2 though......

I'm going to check out a 2.2 comp before deciding on which class to get.

X3 on the 2.2, don't get me wrong the 1.9's can be really tweaked to crawl very well, there wa a pretty bad ass one at the comp I went to on Sunday, but the 2.2's can traverse alot more terain and genearly has a much better turn out for the comps.

and brandon likes his 1.9 but ended up getting a 2.2...seems to be the trend for those that didnt start with a 2.2 but started with a mini.

I'm pretty sure I met Badger at a Slash race at Nor-Cal Hobbies a few months back.

He has a Baja and will probably attend some Autocross races in San Jose as well as the new off-road track in Lakeport.

Crawling and 5th scale racing...it does not get any better than that. Well it does, but a stripper pole is involved.

Nice to hear you had a good time and got to wheel a rig Dom. If you can't decide, get both.

You are correct Rob, Badger raced Slash class with us that day back in June/July. He's a nice guy.

The competitors were all very friendly and patiently explained many of the comp rules. I am planning to check out the outdoor comp on January 4th in Pacific Grove. Probably won't get a rig for a couple months since I need to finish a couple brushless conversions first.
