They also repair and refurbish vintage receivers and newer home theater stereos.

Man, switches and knobs and brushed aluminum were like the pinnacle of audio equipment. After that, it all went down hill.

I remember my brother had an old Nakamichi cassette deck. Nakamichi didn't believe in auto-reverse because flipping the tape head would throw the azimuth off. So they came up with having the cassette door shoot out, followed by the cassette coming out behind it. Then the cassette would spin around 180°, then shoot back in, followed by the door closing. It all happened in the blink of an eye and was the coolest thing I had ever seen at that time.

Here is my vintage pioneer vs my new Yamaha stereo. Aluminum and silver vs black plastic. Yuck.

Not so good picture but you know what I mean.

Wish I can buy all that and put it in my parents house before they wake up. I may have a few new tdk tapes laying around.
Here is the biggest and monster stereo. The sx 1980. Going for 15000 dollars here at the store. 160 watts per channel and like 50 plus pounds. This stereo was made to go with the pioneer HPM speakers that could handle the power. Not sure why you need 160 watts. My sx 750 is 50 watts per channel and my newer Yamaha rx v385 is 75 watts per channel .

More on this. My grandpa got the 750 at a navy exchange. He also got acculab 440s which are rated at 50 watts so it's a perfect pair for the 750. We still have the acculabs today in the same spot mounted on the wall and still working good and they get plenty loud after 45 ish years.

Right now I have the acculabs hooked up to my new Yamaha. Since the speakers are rated at 50 watts, they distort really bad when I crank up the new Yamaha stereo.

Later this year I want to take the old pioneer their to get it clean up, replace a bulb since 1 went out, and clean up all the knobs, switches and front plate and wood. Then I want to try to find vintage book shelf speakers and put all of that either in my room or at the workbench. My grandpa also had a pair of Bose 301 I think they were the series II and he had them in the living room. Now they are in my uncle's living room. I'm trying to find those same speakers on ebay when the time comes.

More about their repairs. They are a small shop and crew so it's a 6 week waiting list to repair or clean your stereo sadly. But it is a small shop and staff. I think they only have about 2 or 3 techs in at the shop per day. Maybe even 1 when they are out.

We had a smaller shop like this in Brownsburg Indiana when I lived there. They mainly started with rare vintage guitar amps, but later started filling the shelves with stereo gear. He had some really rare stuff that looked like brand new. One piece was the exact same head unit that was destroyed buy the gutter ice in the movie Christmas Vacation. I can't remember what that was, but I believe it was from Finland or somewhere like that. It was a really futuristic looking unit for its time. If I had been more financially stable at the time, I would have snatched it up.
