first time going to a hobby shop in quite a while. and as i expected, i came home with all kinds of stuff i dont need. i can never control myself in hobby shops. i spent about 160 bucks just in parts to get the rusty back up and running. i only really needed about 50 bucks worth of it (excluding gas). but hey. thats what happens when you put a kid in a candy store i guess.

haha yea, I went to the lhs today for some stuff for the new buggy and Bought all the "optionals" i had on my list as well. haha it happens tho. At least you can go out and have fun with ur car though.

Hey Bro, when are you expecting your new buggy?

I can relate to the "over spending",,I bought my RTR for $409.00 about 3 months ago, and I'm now in for over $1500.00 mostly in goodies and extras (and many upgrades) and fuel and the main stuff an RTR doesn't include. :)

Jeep

Tomorrow!!! The more people bring it up I get more and more excited!! ahh! I'm not gonna be able to stand school tomorrow, with a test and all just having that on my mind.

I'm headed there tomorrow to pick up some fuel. Ill finally get to tell them about my diffs they charged me for and never installed.. I'm ONLY buying fuel though, I dont care what else I see. Ill come home and order it offline if I want it..lol.

the thing that really sucks is they didnt have the part i needed... so i had to pay 4 dollars shipping for a 2 dollar part from towerhobbies... and it wont be here for 2 weeks.

HOLY SH!T

Shoot.... if you have a Tmaxx you probably have spent more than that... considering you have to pretty much rebuild the truck from the ground up. Also if you get a kit car that does not include Tires, Mill, Radio gear you can spend that kind of cash easialy.... Still alot of money though! What kind of rig you got Jeep?

Over spending on your r/c hobby vehicle, no way lol.

Actually I did pretty well, at least recently. Forget what I spent years and years ago. All I wanted this time was my Savage RTR kit and whatever was needed to make it run. After buying those things I have only further bought:

An aluminum tuned pipe
NiMH receiver battery
Parts for reciver pack charge mod
New charger to charge above battery (old one only did NiCD)
Glo-Bee fast Glow stick charger (who can wait 8 hours if it goes dead)
Parts for Throttle Servo mod
Aluminum Center skid plate
Fuel filter
(Looks like a 3-speed will be coming in the future)
8.4v 3600 mah NiMh battery for my RC10 (it got jealous seeing the Savage running)

Doesn't seem like that much stuff but man does it add up fast. I can only imagine what some of you other guys have spent, it gives me the jitters. Hey, as long as we're having fun it's all good, right?

I just got back from my Lhs. As I said before I had bought my savage from them and was gonna do the spider diff mod before I even rant it. Since they saw I bought it right away they said they would do it for me for no charge, so I said have at it and came back in a half hour and it was supposable done. Then this fall I was gonna go clean everything up and seen it was just the stock stuff. So today (was my 1st time there since I noticed this) I mentioned it to them, and they took off $10. of a gallon of fuel for me. (Which was still $22 for a gallon of Trinity Horspower 20%) So I guess it wasn't to bad. That is the only thing I ended up buying though.

I haven't been to a hobby shop in over six months (thanks to a little trip to the gulf). When I finish cleaning up my buggies and determine their condition, I expect a trip...and hope that I do not end up spending as much as I did the last time (of course I didn't expect to buy another RC on that trip...nor would I on this one.)

It is for this reason that I often wonder if this is a hobby or an addiction. =devil

Well, If you don't want to spend too much you can do the following:

1.) Leave your wallet at home and take only the nessessary money needed

OR

2.) Send the extra items you didn't intend to buy to me.

LOL

i went out to the hobby shop again today. only got the essentials that werent in the package sent from home, Tx antenna and receiver ant. post thing.

i got the rusty up and running. started up after 3 pulls. ran like a champ all day (not bad for sitting for 2 years)...

I'm hooked again. i am now looking at new turnbuckle setups (balls and cups instead of traxxas setup), gears, ball diff. pipe for 2.5 etc etc etc.

reason I'm looking into the turnbuckle.ball.cup setup is i have to do some maintenance since my friend crashed into a wall and busted some stuff up... so why not go all the way ? its just for fun anyway.... i love RC man. so fun

oh, and some new meats ... all different assortments. street, sand, mini pins... the works.
