Took my Aftershock this arvo and it took some serious punishment. Didn't notice till I got home and cleaned it that when all the wheels are turning in a forward motion there is a loud clicking noise. It's never made this noise before and as far as i can tell it's coming from the tranny.? Is this a bearing or a tranny replacement you think ?????:(

Loud "Clicking" could indicate a number of things.

The top two targets on my own list of checks would be the Diffs (if evident) and the tranny.

The "Clicking" could be a sign of a broken gear tooth at worst, dirt or grit in a bearing or even a loose driveshaft pin rotating on the drive shaft "shaft" end as it rotates and tries to grip.

As i said though, my first two suspects would be the diffs and the tranny, diffs first and formost of the two.

just my :2cents: worth

Here is a "never thought it could be that" for you: My LST was doing the very same thing. I could here a clicking and the front tires barely moved, if at all, under power. I swore it HAD to be my front diff. NOPE! It was a broken hex pin. Check it out, it MAY be your issue as well.

Thats a good point right there addict. i forgot about that. lol. the years i have been at this, and i forgot about the "broken hex pin" issues.

my tc4 does that when i get stuff stuck in between the pinion and spur. may want to look there to.

My guess is it's your brakes. Had the same issue with mine. The steel on steel brakes get very grabby when they don't run true. As the inside holes on the disks wear, they start flopping around a bit on the trans output shaft, then they bind and make a nasting ting'ing sound. Also, the grub screw holding the front trans/brake cup on has a tendency to grab the disks as they wear, which also makes a nasty sound.

I took a vid of mine:
I was spinning the axle with a drill on a wheel nut. You can hear the "pop pop pop" sound, then the disks go to an angle and lock. When rolling it off power on the ground, the same thing would happen, but it would break itself loose and the pop would be louder. The disks make a bit of a ting'ing sound as it does it.

The only real fix's are getting LST2 fiber brake pads or getting a set of fiber disks or get a single fiber disk with a higher torque servo.

A buddy of mine runs integy CF disks on his LST2, but he runs fiber pads as well. I run a single 3mm thick vertigo CF disk along with a 170oz t/b servo. The stock servo won't work with a single CF disk, at least it didn't on mine. Now it stops nice and smooth and no more clicking/hang ups. Been running the disk and servo for around 1.5 years (quite a few gallons of fuel) and it's as good now as it was when I installed it.
