Yup, I need to keep the pipe from coming loose from the header. I've tried tightening the little pin that holds the exhaust in place but it keeps sliding no matter what. I'm just tired of it coming loose after some big air. Any tips or suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
 
is it held with a set screw? Maybe rough up the area it holds to or lock tite it?

It's not the set screw that is the problem. It is the fact that no matter how tight I tighten that pin to the chassis it will still slide out of place resulting in the pipe to move far enough forward that it slides off of the header.
 
Get rid of the little nylon lock nut and go to True Value or any hardware store and get a lock washer or star washer and a 7/32 nut and tighten it down with some Loctite.
 
to hold the pipe. get some hard rubber cut it to fit between the pipe and radio box, it must fit tight. then lock it in with tire glue. i think it will help.
 
Do you have 2 zip ties on the rubber sleeve that goes over the header/mufler? Believe it or not..... its important.
 
where in the world do you get a 7/32 nut? that is .21875 inch about a #12 sae. not even close to a 3 mm.
 
Umm probably because that's the size socket I used to remove the nylon lock nut when I had to replace my broken pipe hanger. It's also the same socket I used to remove the carb nut when I took my engine apart to clean it. Fit like a glove on both of them. You're right though it's not even close to 3mm it's more like 5.5mm, because a 6mm was too big and a 5mm was too small.

did you ever wander how the sizeing system for screws under 1/4 inch work? its like this a #0 is.060 dia, then each number increases by .013. making a #2 .086, a #6 .138. also a #12 is the largest normally used. but a#14 is all most an perfect match to a 1/4-20 so a #14 is not used much. also most bolts will measure a few thousandths under the calculated number. now you dont have to look on a chart, just do the math.
