Just got my Wasp.28 the other day and I got in my Trip 7 w/ no mods needed other than putting on the roto start.
So far the .28 seems to be well designed. The block is really small compared to the wasp.26, it's blue, and it comes with a sweet machined alum head, no need for upgrades there. It did surprise me w/ a 3 needle carb vice your typical 2.
It fired up on the first try and maintained a cool 160 during break in at idle.
Can't wait to get it fully broke in for this weekends racing. Look out Woody and Crymnal, I'll be ready!!!
