Hi all, I traded my Kyosho DRT nitro for a traxxas 4 tec 3.3.

So tell me was it a good trade also what upgrades should I get for the 4 tec?

Thanks too all. all reply's appreciated!

I personally would have stayed with the kyosho but if your more of a street driving guy than its not big deal. I just like offroad stuff and I've never owned a kyosho but i know they are good race vehicles compared to traxxas. traxxas always has been known for just bashing and thats why youll see that not many people that race or even professionally race with traxxas.

but can you post photos of your past truck compared to your new car ?

Actually the revo has 8 national, and 6 pro class championships to it's credit. Wouldn't be shocked to see the Slash and Slash 4x4 on the winners list either.

Congrats on the new rig, nothing comes close to onroad for sheer speed.

Congrats on the new rig, nothing comes close to onroad for sheer speed.

But the revo is like really their only good truck that was raced that had good success.

When ever i see reviews or video from racers reviewing traxxas cars compared to usual race rc's they always say traxxas does bad on CG especially for the slayer and slash.

I just dont think traxxas compared to kyosho when it comes to racing. I mean you can race them but not have as good results IMO as Kyosho or other companies known for their race heritage.

But either way nitro 4-tec is a bad ass o nthe streets so i supposed its not a down grade.

Revos may have some titles under the belt but Truggy racing pretty much did away with most of the Revo racers. At least thats my understanding of it. Slashes can't compete against SCTEs and DESC410s either. Generally speaking though TRX is right Traxxas is generally considered good for bashing and beginners and generally dont compair when pitted against full blown racing kits from racing teams like Losi, HPI, Associated, Mugen, Kyosho, etc.

That being said theres nothing wrong with Traxxas kits in the right time and place. Thats just my .02

Having a few of both (Traxxas and Losi) I would agree with greywolf. My slash and tmaxx are always ready to be beat on at any moment but if I'm lookin for hot laps with awesome traction and jumpability my 8ight T & B will blow them away. I know an 8ight T/B is a completly different league from a slash/maxx but you get the point

Pricing wise yeah you did not get hurt any. I would say pretty decent trade. i would like to try a 4_tec sometime. They are a good looking car. and pretty crazy fast.
