I had my savage and as you all know, it was giving me nothing but problems, so then i was talking to one guy who loved the hpi savage and asked if i would trade for his maxx. Well after a good long look, i now have a beautiful traxxas T-maxx! here are some of the pictures.....was it a good trade or no??

you got raped with no lube. the engine on the maxx if its in good shape is a A+ and it appears to have bigbore shocks A+, but those look like integy shocktowers, should last acouple bashes. and those are narrow origanal maxx arms only aluminum,no clue what brand so good luck when you bend or break one. it could be ok if you get some rpm arms, towers, bulkbraces and skids. then you are gonna have to change the sliders/cvds to the wider suspension.

It all in the eye of the beholder. Some actually love Maxx over the Savage and vice versa. I say get rid of the Aluminum arms.. Go RPM WIDE version and get the 3.3 drive train.

The only opinion that counts is yours! As for as money goes unless you had a 4.6 Savage X or a decked out truck they are close enough to not worry about.

I would also suggest going with wide RPM arms later on.

Nice truck!

If you are happy, and the other guy is happy, then it was a good trade. I would also suggest removing the aluminum arms in favor of RPM arms, but other than that it looks like a pretty nice truck. I still have both a Maxx and a Savage and I enjoy both of them. Enjoy your new rig.

I would suggest however before going out and bashing it, clean it up real good and just give it a good once over, check all the screws, make sure they are all there and tight, clean the air filter and clean or replace the fuel filter. Just make sure everything looks good and ready to go.

yhea get rid of the arms and dont get integerdy parts I have not heard good things, If you like it thats akk that matters.

If you were unhappy with your Savage, and excited about this Maxx, then you made a good trade. Just do the total once over like NCNitro suggests, and go run it all you want. You can always replace whatever breaks with stock parts or other upgrades.
Now go enjoy it.

This rig is so far so much better then the savage was. The Engine is brand new on it, the trx 15 was on it but i had the os just sitting in my room with only about 10 tanks through it total since december 24th. Has hitec steering servo and some weird clear metal high torque servo for stearing and he stock as the reverse servo.

I have already completely taken apart the whole entire truck to check and make sure every thing is there and tight. I was already planning to, when i get the money, to convert it to wide 3.3. The tranny was taken apart and looked to be new with all the primarys and such in perfect condition. The thing shifts perfect and never has a problem, and never fails to through it in reverse.

And so far i am soo much more pleased with it then the savage simply because, the savage had a weird motor, screwed up tranny(no 2nd gear), no front diff, stripped front rims, and missing some screws.

This thing just a couple pulls and it roars to life and i'm ready to go.

OH, and another thing is, THERE IS NO INTEGY ON THIS TRUCK! Never has and NEVER will be.

Good, you are listening to us, young one! j/k Other than the RPM upgrades, I say go and beat the s&*( out of it!

I bet that weird clear servo is a Cirrus c80 with metal gears? They are not very fast but they are strong and reliable!

YES THATS IT!! So would it be good to keep it in the steering then?

Does anyone know anything about the RPM back conversion kit they have out. It looks good and I would rather get that then the normal arms.

Also has anybody used or know somebody that have used the duratrax steering upgrade at all?

I have 4 really nice tires on my maxx but have no clue what brand and was just wondering if you guys know at all.

All I know is that they say panther on the tires and nothing on the rims.

rpm tri spoke stable maxx wheels and panther pin tires. pretty good stuff. panther makes good 1/8 buggy tires.
