I return to work tomorrow but before I leave, I just had to assemble something.

They are certainly very good quality. The bearings fitted absolutely perfectly. Great tolerances.
It looks like very nice stuff. I am dying to get back to work on something but I'm still fighting this sickness, whatever the hell this is. It's been like 7 days now. Coming and going.

I'm heading into uncharted territory, for me anyway. I just bought a used Mugen MBX6 Eco 1/8 buggy roller from eBay. I haven't received it yet, but I’m excited. I’ll probably restore it, or at the very least do some maintenance and get it running, depending on its condition. According to the ad, it just needs electronics—but we’ll see.

I have no experience with Mugen Seiki and know little about them, but that’s about to change. This is also my first race-bred buggy and high-end RC. I know it’s an older model, but that doesn’t bother me. I have no plans to race it—at least not competitively.

Looking forward to learning about this model and the brand. Something different.

BTW, If you recognise this car or you are the previous owner, let me know. I would love to get some history on it. (was sold in Australia). Long shot I know but you never know.
so you are in luck . . . . there is a company out there called caster racing . they have a buggy that is called the EX3.0 it is a direct clone almost of this mbx6. all parts will fit from the towers to the beautiful pillow balls everything fits . if you are having trouble getting parts for it look them up at caster racing USA. the us dealer is a friend of mine and is a really good guy. i hope this helps your build and parts replacement.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of that. I'll have a look.

While I wait for my overseas orders to arrive, I decided to make a start on the diffs when I have a few spare minutes, as I have the parts I need for them.

The previous owner went over the diffs in 2020, but I don't know to what extent and how much use it got since then so I'll do it again. The diffs actually feel great and no leaks but I don't know what oil is in them.

For whatever reason, the center diff actually has frt/rear outdrive cups fitted. I'm sure they would be fine but I got some new correct ones.

I'm starting with the center diff. It already has a new spur fitted so that's good. 46T. The diff case is damaged from a rock I'm guessing, so thats getting replaced.

The new parts I have, excluding bearings.

Disassembled. All the internals are in great condition. Ready for cleaning.

New parts.

Done. New case, seals, outdrives, gasket, pins, bearings, oil and grease. Shimmed.

You Aussie's are so clever with your abrevs and such!!! Spur gears=spears!!! 😍🤣

Good luck with your rcar!!! 🙄😁🤣

This does look like its coming together well! Is it easier or harder to find parts for this one than your Traxxas rebuilds?
I saw these might be the same as Castor Racing parts. Is that confirmed? 😎👍

I missed that one. Thanks. I'm sure you'll see a lot more bad spelling, typo's and bad grammar.

About the same. Some parts still available, some not. Some found locally and some from afar. I still haven't found a new motor mount or chassis.

I had a look. It looks like the Castor Racing models are based off the MBX7 and maybe the 8. So a lot of the parts are different to the MBX6. Unfortunately the parts I still need are different.

Lol! Of course just teasing... I type with my thumbs and forehead... no room for real critisism from me! 🤣
When I read you posts about sourcing parts, it always takes an extra second for to occur to me that you ARE down under and what extra challenges that could present.
I can relate when sourcing some vintage Kyosho parts.

This looks like its going to be a beautiful buggy once its done! 😍

Not sure if I've already mentioned it, but in the search for Mugen parts, I found a local Mugen dealer which I never knew existed. Its only a business run from home but he still has some MBX6 parts plus MBX7/8 and more. I've already done 2 orders.

Give it time. Pretty soon we'll be seeing 'Warby's MBX6 Spare Parts Truggy Build' 😅

My past haunts me. 😂

A Truggy would have been easier. More parts available.
