Yeah very cool. I was looking at VR gear . . . man that stuff is KILLER expensive.

Yeah no doubt the gear is expensive, here is what you'd be looking at spending on a system:
Gyro:$425
headset:$699
cam: $99
video tx/rx: around $150
antenna: 8dbi patch (optionnal) around $60
looks like i wont be trying this mod anytime soon!

Very cool. There is a lot of talk on rcgroups about similar systems. You can get something almost as good for a lot less if you can live without the moving onboard camera.
