Guess I'm about to try putting a 16v lipo on a traxxus vxl system...has anybody everybody done this.

I didn't know they made a 16 volt lipo, I thought they went up in 3.7 volt inkerments. not sure what that ESC is rated for but if you check the traxxas site you could find out if it can handle it or you could just take your chances and hope you don't fry it...

Traxxas appears to rate the VXL and 11.1 volts max. So they recommend limiting the input to 3s at most. It's quite possible that you'll burn up the ESC if you're going to try anything higher.

They dont make one abad. John you may get away with a 4s but you need to be prepared to by a new speedie. The question is WHY? I run 3s at 8 and 10 amp, in Bandit, Rustler and Stampede. That power is wasted in the 'Pede and in the Bandit and Rustler overpowers the chassis and will outrun all but the fastest on-road.
Each to their own I guess.....
