Vintage usa1 nitro diff chat

Hi there i have a vintage usa1 nitro i think its a 1999 onwards because it has a gs21r nitro engine i may be wrong i wanted to know if i can upgrade the diffs in these any help would be appreciated.

I would love to own one of these and the electric also one day. The only Kyosho I have is an 1/8 Aston Martain on my Ofna buggy.

Hi thank you for the information that you sent me i have just been having a good read of it. I just got this second hand truck like last week it is one that i have always wanted myself it was complete when i got it but is in bits at the moment ( good job i got a manual with it lol ) i have all sorts of upgrades for it on order. As i didn’t get a body shell with it and the bodys a rare now i am thinking of doing a 79 ford Bigfoot body. Thanks

You might can swap front and rear diff ring and pinion from a mp7.5 and I also recommended the center diff as it is far more durable and better performance. I did this swap on mine but that was over 15 yrs ago and can't remember much details.

FYI the Jconcepts 88 ext cab Silverado is the same dimensions front and rear end and the usa1 grille and bumpers can be made to fit. You also get the proper wheelbase with the jco vs original

Hi there. Yes that sounds like a good upgrade the 7.5 diff ring and pinion are steel over the standard aluminium ones on the usa. I have just figured out that the front and rear standard grease filled diffs on this can be upgraded with silicone seals and gaskets and filled with oil instead thats a great mod. As for the body I’ve seen a few of jc’s bodies and haven’t decided yet which one to get as I don’t have a grill or any of the usa’s chrome body parts so it’s going to be a tough one. I have done a few vintage kyosho rebuilds so i now know what not to do when cleaning parts lol. Thanks for your info. Sorry I haven’t any photos for you its in many of pieces and i am waiting on parts. Thanks

To be honest i have only had it for about a week and i really haven’t thought that far ahead yet. I’ve have seen a ford Bigfoot body on a usa1 chassis and that looks great its a bit longer as well than the usa1 body.

I used to chat with the builder of that truck online I think, its either one or the other guy I know.

Do you know what they are off because if i ever needed a set i would definitely get some of those not that i do the ones i got with mine had been taken off the car and stored separately luckily they are like you’ve just got them out of a new kit.
This is the only photo i have of it and it was when i had just been to collect it I couldn’t believe what i had just bought and i only payed £130 and that was with overnight delivery.

Ofna / hobao Monster pirate /bigfoot iirc they're was only one seller in Taiwan with new pairs and inserts which are not included last time I ordered but been years.
