It appears I haven't done this one yet.
In 2004, right out of High School I joined The Marine Corps. I was 17 when I went into Recruit Training, and I made my dad cut my long hair the night before I went down to MCRD San Diego. He was so pissed. I was a stoner type kid and just wanted a challenge. I had 2 friends that were also going in, which I believe I got the rank of PFC (E2) for one of em. I served about 5 years and bounced around to a couple Battalions due to MOS changes. I started as a 7212 LAAD Gunner (Stinger Missles) and ended up in a Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion as an 0311. Good times! There are some things still with me today that I will never forget. They say the change is forever, isn't that the truth.
Thanks for your service.

Thanks for serving. Had a kid i went to school with join fresh out. Talked for a bit years later around 2012 or so. Ptsd and suicidal thoughts trying to find a counselor to help him. Hurt because he used to be happy go lucky smart ass class clown.

Kinda glad o didn't go tgat route. My father grew an army brat. Both parents were drill instructors in the navy.

Best adventures you could ever ask for.
Two thumbs up, Swifty! :thumbs-up: :thumbs-up: Duty on the ROK doesn't come any tougher than that.

EUSA G6, Yongsan 1998-2000 for me. Wife and I (Command-Sponsored Tour) took a winter USO Tour to the DMZ. Still have the signed "hold harmless" waivers in my papers and still have the coffee mug. -AC

Thanks for your service @kennethg089 , I was a 64C when I was in fulltime Army.
Motor transport operator. Pretty fancy words for just a truck and bus driver but I loved it.

Nothing wrong with that, I drove a lot of trucks for troop transport and hauling equipment. Thank you for your service!

Yeah, seems like every deployment with the Army starts and ends with a bus ride. So, yeah, Tuned, you're services were vital to the mission.

Back, 1981 was a 54B (Cml Def Opns) and had to obtain a driver identifier bussing our USAR unit out of Nebraska for an exercise in California. Wheeled Vehicle driver badge is still part of my retirement dress. Ran a daily on the I-5 out of Tracy, CA to Ruff-and-Ready and Tracy Army Depot and back again. Good times. -AC
