Vendetta upgrading

I started out with my vendetta wanting to hop it up and make it tough. I first got the steel cvd's, then got the steel ball diffs, then converted to pbs, then got the ezrun 18a 5200kv brushless combo.I bought 3s lipo 25c 1600mah batterys. Well if you have seen a vendetta you now it bigger than the rc18's, more 1/16 size. The motor 20*30*5200kv with 3s overheated and would cut off. So i have been looking and trying some other motors. I tried a longer can, the ammo 20*40*3500, it was torque but just wasn't the right thing. I ordered a 20*42*4200 exceed motor with stock gearing...PERFECT!!! Blazing fast, super torque, and no overheating. Oh but i did have to get a smaller servo because the vendetta comes with a standard sized servo. So i got the Hitec hs 225 mg much faster and stronger than stock. I enjoy playing with this over my savage xl and pede vxl. Is there anything else i NEED for my vendetta???

sweet you got the same setup as me almost, i got the 8000kv brushless motor and 1/10 onroad wheels/tires. but i put the losi micro 2.4ghz reciever in mine off a losi mini lst2

i'm a little dissapoined though, i broke the shaft off the motor and had to buy another one. mine flys it's gotta run 50 or 60 mph. it's fun in a big parking lot i can nail it and let it go where it wants and it will power slide and go straight steady gaining speed. on smooth surface just nailing it on short runways though it wants to spin out.

I can't hit top speed befor getting out of range hehehe.

try moving your antenna wire, the 2.4ghz i have is just a cheapo it's nothing special, just a stock one froma mini lst 2. but the good thing about it is,i don't really need a antenna lol mines hard to top out as well, i took it to a empty bilo parking lot to top it out while i was running it my gf or well maybe x now was running my evader in the middle of the highway cause she lost track of it

Make a fan mount for your ESC

Blue alloy screw kit, aluminum front shocks, and various carbon fiber bits. Stay away from the front CF shock towers, they grind down very easily when the buggy flips over.

And get a decent radio!

is you're reciever on top of the steering servo or is your steering servo relocated? also, where could i get one of those bodies? last but not least, what kind of wheels/tires are those?

The receiver is on top of the carbon fiber servo hold down. Servo is in its stock position. The antenna tube is actually not an antenna tube at all, its a carbon fiber rod which helps keep the buggy from getting on it's lid.

Check ebay for the body, I got mine about a year or two ago. I found the guy who made them from another forum (now defuct one18th.com).

The wheels are from the Tamiya Mini Cooper. Tires are 1/18 Proline road rages with 1/10 touring sedan foams (green firm).

are the tamiya mini cooper wheels the same hexes as the stock vendetta? and if you know what size are they stock? ii can put 1/10th scale wheels on mine but i dunno if that is the stock adapters or not.

Yes, the Tamiya Mini Cooper wheels are same size hex- 12mm. Officially the wheels are for the Tamiya M-03 chassis, so search on that when looking online for them.

Yes, all the M0-3 chassis wheels will fit, they only differ in style.

I run steel CVDs front and rear, with aluminum front knuckles. thetoyz.com carries them at good prices.

Ok i got a spektrum dx3.0, and OMG so much better. I've never useed anything but am tx and rx... I will never got back. I also swithced to a 11t pinion. I did a speed run to clock it 11/45 gearin 3s lipo 4200kv motor, and got it up to 40 mph. Continuous running the motor stays at 120 deg and the esc runs the same. I finally got it dialled in for racing.

i bought a brand new castle creations 8000kv motor for mine after breaking the tip off the armature and it seems slower, the other motor was a 8000kv both were castle creations 2080s but the newer one is made a little diffrent...'=

there were no color coded wires on the newer motor and no abc to tell me which wires went where, i just put it next to the old motor and put them in the same place the old wires went that were color coded since they were the same motor
