my question is a little strange but it still concerns me i was driving my Merv yesterday and it sounded like it was hitting some type of Rev Limiter???. . .i was kind of confused on that one it sounded like someone driving a car with a manual transmission and not shifting it out of second gear and having it opened up all the way and bouncing off the limiter, i mean the thing was screaming fast when it was doing it but i was just wondering, is there a rev/rpm limiter on the brushless esc/motor??. . I'm just confused:\

Usually on a brushless system, the motor will accelerate to its highest speed and it will not accelerate any further. There really isn't a rev limiter on the ESC. It may be that you are either hitting the thermal cutoff (overheating the ESC and/or motor) or that you are hitting the LiPo low-voltage cutoff.

wierd one brother..never heard of that...i run mine all day long with the high speed gear and never had that happen..mine stutters at slow speed sometimes with packs in parallel....check your battery connection...

I know what hes talking about. When I tried running with 4S lipos the car would hit a "rev limiter" so to speak. It was a very fast pulsing of the motor. When that happened, I did some digging around on various forums and found out that stock Velineon ESC has a software rev limiter that kicks in at a little under 60k rpms. It happened to me while running 4S lipo and 23t "high speed" pinion.

I didn't know this, where did you find the info I would like to read up on it. I run 4s but control becomes a problem before it turns that many rpms:D

I've heard this to but if yiu have it set up right i thought you had it geared low and alot of power makin it snap the revl

call traxxas and b&c i know a guy who does this as long as he has pop they fix him up
