Hi,

I have a Vaterra Kemora 1/14 car. It has no body on it since I broke it but that is the least of my worries. I have a brand new spur I put in but the pinion is still stripped. I know these parts are hard to find now but if anyone has a place to find them that could help. My other option is to completely rebuild the inside. Sorry if I have the wrong part names This would include a new motor, servo, ESC, and anything else I might've missed. I know the measurements for the driveshaft and such are different nowadays than they were many years ago. If anyone would totally rebuild the inside, how should I do it? The car is still in clean condition.

Rebuild the inside of what? You keep mentioning rebuilding the inside, but have no idea what you are referring to.

Are you talking about replacing the ESC (25A mini ESC), motor (280 size 4500KV), and servo (903WP mini)? If so, i would check and see if any of it works before replacing it. As for replacing those things, its a basic 1/14TH scale car, so, parts designed for 1/14TH scale cars will be pretty much a direct replacement. Many different companies make replacement electronics that will fit that car. As for the pinion gear, if you mean the one on the motor, a quick check of the manual, found here: https://www.horizonhobby.com/on/dem...c9d51f/Manuals/VTR01000-PartsExplosion-ML.pdf shows that the stock original is a 16T, but, doesn't say what pitch it is, so, you would have to figure that out, and then just find a 1/14TH scale 16T pinion with the right gear pitch. According to the part number, the motor has a 2MM shaft, so, the pinion would have to fit a 2MM shaft, as long as you keep it near stock. Even upgrading the electronics, things like motor shaft size, and, overall motor size (in this case its a 280 size 4500KV motor), you should match as closely as possible to the original (being that parts are pretty much non-existent, except maybe on eBay, so i wouldnt go overboard trying to make it faster). Anything else you want to know about it, such as how parts come apart, can be found by looking through the manual.

all I need right now is just the pinion which might be an ebay find yes. I wanted to ask if updating the electronics inside was worth it because then if it breaks again I could fix it relatively easily. But I do not know what modern electronics could replace the old

Although electronics have changed, they havent really changed all that much from what it looks like your car already has. The motor is a 4500KV 280 size, so, as long as you stay close to that range (4200 to 4700KV 280 size with a 2.26MM shaft), finding a motor should be easy. This is just one example from Team Associated: https://www.associatedelectrics.com...-ASC904-reedy_280-sl4_4500kv_brushless_motor/
The ESC is a 25A mini, so, any 1/14TH scale brushless ESC should work in it. This is the Team Associated one that matches the motor i linked: https://www.associatedelectrics.com/reedy/parts/details/29188-ASC29188-reedy_sc300-bl_brushless_esc/
And, this servo should be a direct replacement: https://www.associatedelectrics.com/teamassociated/parts/details/27131-ASC27131-d115f_digital_servo/
I used the Team Associated Reflex 14 (B, T, R) platform to give you a solid start to compare to, but, almost any 1/14TH scale brushless ESC, motor and servo that matches the specs of the original (with the ESC, you can go with a higher amp one, such as a 30A or 35A), but, i wouldnt go too high, because then it may not fit the chassis. You could also look up the WLToys 144001, or the new Rlaarlo: https://rlaarlo.com/products/1-14-b...U3313I6wi4zGdxcKjZ5fUb9cpvZ27GasaAtGQEALw_wcB
and see what electronics they use to give you an idea of what to look for. For specs on what you currently have, here are the part #'s for the motor: DYN4830 and servo: VTR211000. The ESC i can't find a part # for, but, specs are listed above. Here are a couple posts on other forums dedicated to just that car that might also help you out: https://www.rctech.net/forum/micro-mini-scales/706393-vaterra-kemora-kalahari-offical-thread.html

But, as i said before, see if the car even works first before replacing anything, except the needed pinion. As for the pinion, you just need to figure out what pitch the spur is, and then get a matching 16T pinion. Unfortunately, the only thing i can't find is what pitch the gears are.

Pinion is a 0.5 mod. Motor shaft is 2.0mm. Robinson Racing makes 0.5 mod 2mm bore pinions http://www.robinsonracing.com/catalog/2mm_pinion.html#.5-mod

Hot Racing makes a 48p spur gear that fits so you could always change over to 48p gears.

I've done a few mods to mine.

The D115F servo is too small.

Sorry I didn't want to tear the servo out of my mini but you can see the stock Vaterra servo is much longer.

This one drops right in https://www.amazon.com/Hitec-32225S-HS-225MG-Mighty-Servo/dp/B0006O3X7C

I would go with this esc over the Reedy https://www.ebay.com/itm/2955977389...7aIi7HLnBKVxsS232ZvR/s3w==|tkp:Bk9SR7K6otn5YQ
