Revo I skated w/ Wentzle in Massachusets.....he farms fish now....Do/Did you know those guys??
AND I have a bob biniack Logan Earth Ski....BOOO-YAAAH baby....

BTW vans started March 15, 1966....I've seen that Salba history video like a million times in my life...that date is burned in my brain from it....
and Etnies started in 86 or 87....I got my first pair before i entered my first contest back then......15 years old and I SUCKED...lol....now I'm 33 and I still suck.....just not at skating anymore

I used to wear vans all the time, then it got harder to find the bigger sizes in the stores around here.. I picked up a pair of etnies about 6 months ago and i gotta say, they are some of the most comfortable shoes i have found. Ever since then, i havent been able to find etnies in size 15 (on line and whatnot). I may try some vans again (as i have seen those around online in 15s)

i dont know anything about both of them but the etnies look better. i am a jordan person myself though

DAMN!!! You have some big-ass feet! What are you, 7' or something?

Its such a hard choice...I'll have to see at the store. Never worn a pair of rowleys before.

6'4/6'5 or so... I'm glad my feet stopped growing... It was getting harder (and more expensive) for the dirtbike boots!

PLaid, yes, skate and surf, along with Tom Sims, Larry Bertleman, Jay Adams and Jeff Ho.

Somewhere in my millions of old photos, I have a pic of me and Alva skating down Ocean Park Blvd on the long downhill going from 6th St. on down, while holding a surfboard under our arms, headed off to a late summer afternoon glass off.

My first real skate was a Sims Pro with Tracker Mids and Bones wheels, Pizza Deck on top.

yea those are pretty badass, i just think too many people have etnies, they get old just like those goddamn nike airforce ones IMO

Thats why I vowed never to get a pair of Etnies but my friend(who is a girl) kept nagging and I finally told her I might. I might look into those Adios depending on price(This is my money sorta.)

I had adios and they didnt last long. They were comfortable but just made crappy.

LOL....that's sick.....I got to meet a lot of cool guys that are very big now when they were just skating for the fun of it.....but you got to ride with the godfathers.....I'd give my left potato to session w/ those guys...I met allan gellfand down here...he owns a VW depot tuner car shop and races porsches now....and has a 10 ft wooden bowl that has a crazy hip in it....check it out:
http://www.ollieair.com/ it's so manly I just carve around in it but thes guys just rip......

Ahhh, the "Ollie"... we could only dream of "air" in 1978. Now look what air they pull. I guess I really am old. And we thought we were the dog back then.

The boards are quite a bit different now too. Back in the day they were eaither really narrow, or else super wide..

well materials have changed like 100 times over as well...that logan earth ski I have is the first laminated wood board ever made.....I have a G&S fiberflex coming soon too...they re-released them in longboard size....w/ bennet replica trucks...hooyaa I wanna go ride that road going to la jola in SD.......ahh the fun things in life....I started skating when powell bone-ite was new....I saw boards evolve from egg shaped kick tail flat decks to the concave "capsule" shapes today...although they are getting tiny again and it's hard for me to find shapes I like still.....but luckiliy they last a whole lot longer now.....

I do everyday too man....I get e-mails from friends still riding and sending me pics......kills me...I don't watch skateboarding or snowboarding anymore unless it's raining out...I figure if I can sit down and have time to watch it I should get out and go do it......

Yeah, I miss the good 'ol days as well, fellas! I used to have a first edition Imabeason boards with uberdink trucks and used to put some of that good 3M 800 grit paper on the deck so I wouldn't slip when I pulled an ollie off the trash can in front of the Circle K.

I remember during the summers in Alabama, my crew would roll down tothe TG&Y parking lot and grind with our trick decks and bitchin' New Balance kicks. After a while, we'd stop the the 7-11 for a Big Gulp and Yubba Bubba.

Yeah, I miss those days!

Not funny MW, either you were, or you were not, a real DT skater...:arrr: no posers allowed.
