So I bought this great XXL kit of this guy. Problem is, I want to use my already broken in Ae .28 pro. So I take the pro out of the SC8, remove the clutch bell, and install the new Losi clutch bell with the dual pinions.

the problem I'm having is the output shaft doesn't seem to be long enough, so when I sinch down the single screw to hold the bell on, the bell and flywheel touch and stick together, effectively making them one.

Obviously something's wrong. Do i need a Losi flywheel that perhaps exposed more of the output shaft?

with stock AE shoes and flywheel.

Losi dual pinion clutch, end of shaft is visible, but should be flush.

sweet.

I think I saw a bag full of that stuff in the rubber maid. that's all I needed guys.

won't have it running for a bit. can't seem to find the motor mounts. I have some new ones on order so perhaps by the end of next week I can have it all good to go.

so I've run into a new problem. I cannot get this carb off. I sealed the engine long ago, now I need to turn the carb around so it's facing the correct direction. I pull the pinch bolt and begin trying to loosen the carb and it won't pull out. I seem to be able to turn it maybe a 1/8th turn but that's it. It's stuck on there good.

Any suggestions, I've already bruised my hands so I'm not sure if I should try and clamp it up in a vise and go for broke.

It's that, or a buy a new engine and start from scratch.

Put the pinch bolt in, but loosely. Then tap on the end of the bolt. It should knock it loose. The pinch bolt might have been over-tightened and literally wedged into the carb throat, you just have to knock it loose.

If that doesn't work try putting it the oven at 200-250 degrees and using leather gloves to yank that sucker out.

If it moves, then just keep rocking it back and forth with your hands while pulling up on it. Using any type of tools on it will more than likely just damage it. I hope you get it sorted out.

When you do get it out, it may not be a bad idea to file off any burrs created from the cinch bolt.

I hear what you're saying, but the pinch bolt came right out, both sides of it. there's nothing holding the carb in but a ring of sealant.

Sounds like a plan. I eat my wheaties, so if I can't get it out by hand I'll need the mechanical assistance of a vise.
