UPS monumental mistake

Not to be a jerk, but to me, it looks like ya wigged out over nothing. Not all places are "Next day delivery" acceptable, so if they said it will be it will. As it was. Sounds to me like a good case of ants in the pants.. Understandable though, I'm the same way.

Heh, no worries amigo. I was looking forward to getting it, and worried over UPS' performance (considering they've smashed and/or lost a few packages of mine in the past). It definately worried the heck out of me when I saw "Mather, out for delivery", especially considering the size of the order...

oh, and that "United Package Smashers" thing; that's accurate... not even a minute before I got my package tonight, I witnessed the same driver throw a package, ring a doorbell, and bolt at a neighbors house.

Pics shall follow, after the building period.......

Geeez, I've been to Mather. I am surprised it even tracked there, that dang place is soooo small. Lucky some upwoods redneck didn't get his hands on it. And yes, UPS sucks.

As to USPS being a government entity, they are now, and have been for about 10-15 years, a quasi-private organization. This is much like Amtrak. The idea here is to make a profit due to being competitive in the open market for rail transportation (free enterprise scheme) but in order to keep the road solvent, the Feds subsidize the enterpise to ensure it's success. The nation could not afford a BR for the nations largest carrier of people and goods (rail). The employees of Amtrak and USPS are not direct government employees anymore. The USPS employees became independent in 1982. What makes it confusing for most people is that the USPS is an independent part of the Executive Branch of the Fed Gov't, whihc explains why they have law enforcement powers (USPS Inspectors), but as to the regualr employees, they are working for profit. ( which is why they do not need the subsidy anymore)

I will chime in for this. UPS does not suck at least in my area. My gf works in a trucking company and UPS does have an office there. UPS trying to have everything perfect (try a phone call in every 15 min) to make sure everything as scheduled.

The problem is the UPS driver! I am lucky that the drive for my route is a very nice guy. He does not complaint or beg for tips everytime he is here. Well, he is here 3-4 times a week. In average 50-100 lbs of stuff. He knows I work at home and will be out of here around 4pm. whenever I hear "HONK HONK", I know he is here. And he is here earlier than I expected. He will drop of my packages as soon as possible, sometimes here is here 10 in the morning (morning call for me). If I am not going to be home, I will let him know so he will leave the packages on the front door instead of hauling them into the management office, which is not a good thing consider the weight of those packages.

Here is my thought. Talk to the UPS guy (be nice). Tell him your situation. Tip him if that helps. I really don't mind tipping if he works with me. As for USPS, the postman is giving me an attitude problem. However, all my mails still got here on time.

DHL is another best choice! Although, I had some problem with drop off location while ago but it has been taken care of. I have yet try FedEx, but I heard if you ship alot, you can actually apply for discount (15% be to exact). Still, there is problem. The only drop off location around my area is Kinko's. Kinko does not accept drop off for FedEx ground! Again, if you ship a lot you could pay for the daily pick up. They will be here no matter what. Also, DHL and UPS offer the daily pickup service as well.

As for me, I am not worry about UPS, DHL, or FedEx. Take a :chillpill and relax. If the package got lost, call them and it will be taken care of.

Lastly... HeartBreak you order is not that big :p: . Try 3 grand all the time.

what Bouzouki was saying is Fed/Ex is actually owned by usps.

Wrong info. Postal Service doesn't own Fed-Ex

Postal Service also does pick-ups. Go to usps.com and request a pick-up. NO CHARGE

It was gigantic to me, bro :p:. It's the most I've spent on the hobby at one go-round.

Anyways, Just finished assembling the car, aligning a starter box, and cleaning up.... But, like I said above, I have to order a pipe.... Any thoughts on a good mate for an OS VZ-R II? I'm thinking the Ofna 063, but since this is a high-RPM engine, I was thinkin the 082(?)....

Pictures of the beast will be posted...... when I can get around to it, lol.

Hey team, I thought I had heard that myself someplace before? If it's not true why do they have Fed-Ex boxes at the P.O. ?
They have them at mine to, now that you say that. Maybe its because of the Govnt. Defacit. (Sp?) :arrr:

We made a contract with them. We can use their airplanes to fly our Express mail & packages & they can put their boxes next to our blue boxes at the Post offices. But that contract has expired and should no longer see their boxes anymore.

The package arrived over 3 hours late. Its supposed to be garunteed delivery by 3 pm... I think your driver got lost...

Most likely, but the UPS drivers hardly ever get to this part of town before 5.

Are you serious, my parents send stuff to us all the time from Chicago via FedEx Ground shipped from a Kinko's/FedEx and it arrives next day.

The Postal Service did re-new the contract with Fed-ex. So we are still using there Air fleet, therefore their boxes will stay at the Post offices.
