I dunno if this is right, but UPS basically has my package down in Mather, CA - marked "out for delivery". I shipped it next-day-air. Now, the question is, how do I make sure someone who isn't supposed to get $1,600 worth of R/C stuff doesn't get it?!

(about to SUE the crap out of UPS....)

how far away is mather ?? if your in a small town that may be the closest ups dist hub to you ..

Hmm....according to Yahoo maps it is almost 6 hours from Redding to Mather. The fastest way to get an answer is to call the customer service department for UPS.

I just got off the phone with a 'Customer Service Rep' (what an oxymoron, if I ever heard one).... Their response was "trust in the system, it'll be there by the end of the day... Or it could get a 'wrong location scan, which'll tie it up another day". Kind of defeats the next-day-air I paid for.

Mather is located right by Yosemite. Sacramento has a Dist hub. Redding itself has a full service center.

I am seriously starting to HATE UPS about now. A Mugen MBX5Prospec, OS .12 TZ, .21 VZ-R II, 065 pipe, headers for both engines, an ofna 12v trustart, some shock oils, and a handful of other parts.... All delivered to friggin' Yogi Bear!!

edit; forgot to mention; the "dis service rep" posed the question of a second label on the package. I highly doubt Tower Hobbies re-uses a shipping container box. Even if they do, they most likely will place the new label over the old one.

That's the one key thing that sucks about UPS... At least with FedEx, the reps are willing and able to correct a package out for delivery (I know; I've had it done). I guess I'll have no choice but to sit tight and sleep on it, lol... Nap time.

I'll update if/when it arrives.

UPS is screwey more times than not. Hell our software updates for the airplanes all get shipped the same day, 2 from one location in Denver, 2 from one location in Phoenix, all get shipped Red (next day, which I thought was supposed to be by noon). Anyway the same guy stopped and delivered three different times all those disks! I was like WTF the first time he stopped by and said where's the others, he said there aren't any. Second time I said thought there weren't anymore and your still missing one. Third time he snuck in and left the package by the backdoor. I do believe you can call tower if the package doesn't show up and they will refund some or all of the cost you paid for Next day. At least that is what FedEx will do.

UPS is great for recycling tracking numbers.
I was tracking a package going to PA and they said it was delivered to NY 6 months earlier. Later that day it showed up properly in the tracking system and was delivered on time.

After taking a nap, and checking the site; it seems my package is out for delivery TWICE. I'll post the tracking number after the package arrives, just for everyone to see the laugh riot.

So it hasnt been the full time yet? Like so far its not late? If thats the case, just settle down and dont get worried until its at least late. When I got my 1st plane, I got it from a dude in Maine (I'm in Mn.) And it had to make a pit stop in Georgia before it was shipped here, but it was still shipped in the time they stated. But yeah, Ups sucks. Fedex is the only way to go.

I wasn't really concerned about the time of the shipment; more concerned over the fact that it went to some s...splat town near Yosemite National Park (mapquest it... you'll see). Now that it is here in town, I'm none-too-worried. Even tho it's hands-down the largest order I'll ever place, lol.

Edit; Whenever I sell stuff on ebay, I always ship via fedex. It's a bit more of a drive, but it's worth it. Cheaper, and I know the package WILL get there intact.

Yeah, the United states postal service is actually pretty good too. They dont track worth a poop, but there actually pretty dependable, handle them well, and are fairly cheap (But getting a lil more spendier now)

Thatd explain why there both good then. What is Ups owned by smartech then or what?

If you shipped nextday air it should of been there by 10:30am or if it went nextday air saver by 3PM.

Fedex is not owned by UPS, DHL bought Airborne express.

Also Fedex drivers buy there own routes. Kinda like a franchise.
