Recently I shipped an item to my cousin.
It's weight was less than 2 lbs, and was about 6x6x6 inches.
It was a good distance. (NY-CA)

$12.77 regular UPS ground.

I thought that was a bit much for the size and weight.

I understand the cost of fuel and all, but the post office is a fraction of that.

Just a little rant.

No sh!t,i like ups because they have full tracking on your items from building to building but i would much rather go usps for my pocket book,it's insane, some companys shouldn't be greedy

The UPS delivery took 8 or 9 days.
USPS said priority was 2 days. (yeah right)

But USPS was $5.75 priority mail, insured, with delivery confirmation!!

Actaully USPS Priority mail is a decent service and usually gets to its destination withing the two-three day limit, although I bet from CA-NY it would be four. DO NOT do Parcel Post lol, it'll take forever, and Priority is only a bit more money in most cases.

Parcel from here to Wa to Va was only 4 days,Priority is anywhere from 2-3 days from anywhere,I've always had my priority no later than 3 days.

Ratzo did u forget where I work bro? I could've told u that the cheapest way to ship is by the Postal Service. Why do u think EBAY has a contract with us!

Priority is 2-3 day service.

I usually do priority because it's not too expensive usually....cept for wen i hav to send whole kits because all i hav r huge moving boxes, lol. And the post office is closer to me. I almost did loose a package once, but the reciepient eventually got it after a little less than two weeks and I shipped it priority so I was pissed cause it wasn't insured either...but at least they got it. So now, I insure everything above $20 I send.

Yea I almost lost a savage due to the postal service, took two weeks via Priority, but it got there. Only bad experience I've had...I just wish they would have a tracking system like UPS and Fed-Ex do.

Ya, supposedly they do, but it sux sooo-much ass, it's not even worth it...

EDIT: Hey, team 17, you work for usps? what's the policy for sending like flammable liquids....like nitro fuel? (Domestic shipping)

They are all expensive since fuel is so high. All but usps charge for residential service now an extra $2.00

I went to my UPS store, I was sending my Maxx in its box, so you know how big it was, it came in at 30lbs, well that was fine, and the guy was going to put it at the back so it would get shipped out, well he then came back and told me the box is not good enough and I would have to buy one, no biggie I thought, well after he was done it cost me $14.99 for the box, $2.00 for peanuts and 50 cents for teh tape, yeah he charged me for tape.it came out to like $45 dollars, well I only had $35, cause when I did their online cost and time it only came out to $25, I was pissed, but the guy said well dont worry about it I am the Manager so just pay what you can. I will be useing DHL and USPS from now on.

Yeah, i pretty much only use USPS... They have the cheapest price... I use FedEx for everything else... They are supposedly cheaper than UPS by some percentage...

I also use USPS priority with delivery confirmation. That is the best deal.

I personally am not at all happy with the USPS parcel post service. Bought an engine off ebay, and NEVER recieved it (2 months ago!).

Team17; if you're high enough up to track down a package, could ya shoot me a PM?

I have gone strictly USPS Priority with delivery confirmation to ship my stuff. Most of what I ship are painted bodies which weigh next to nothing. I just sent 2 to Louisiana and it cost me maybe $7 and got there easily in 3 days. I've never had a problem. The last body I shipped via FedEx cost nearly as much as the body to ship. That's crazy.

FedEx ground has really good rates and they are actually quite cheaper and faster than UPS. I think most FedEx ground shipments usually get to where they are going in 3-5days. USPS has been ok for me but it seems everytime I ship something important it gets lost or delayed.

It cost me a bit over 20.00 to ship UPS regular ground that buggy I picked up for Retarded Pilot. Yeah, they insured it up to 100.00, and yeah, they have on-line trcking, but it seemed a little steep considering what I was used to if I had time to go to the USPS. The guy said it was the size and weight of the box that made it so much. I thought that was a stupid statement considering I had a while Jeep top sent to my door for less and it was in a very odd shaped box, nevermind that it was heavy.

Welcome to my world.
Shipping costs have more then doubled in the last 3 years.
UPS ground is by far the most expensive and slowest in the industry for packages under 3 LBS.

USPS Priority 1-3 days $3.85 including tracking is by far the least expensive.
Fed-X Ground is the best price for packages 3-15 lbs that are more then one zone away.

UPS is the best price for multipul packages and packages over 10 lbs in the same zone.

DO NOT GO TO THE UPS STORE or a shipping service. You have to pay them extra to ship. We charge 20% just to print the label for you.

Got PM.

I will never use UPS or Fedex again.

USPS Priority is the best imo.

Its so cheap and always gets there in 2-3 days.
