i'd like to upgrade this IMEX Katana brushless i got. it uses a 2435 brushless motor. if i buy a 2435 motor from amazon, will it fit? i see that there are shafts that are 2mm diameter shaft and 2.3mm diameter shaft. do i have to disassemble it and measure the shaft width?

i had my eye on this one: https://www.amazon.com/KingVal-Replacement-Sensorless-Brushless-Compatible/dp/B0B7HDP5S8/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3OEAWF589024Q&keywords=2435+brushless+motor&qid=1682043154&s=industrial&sprefix=2435+brushless+motor%2Cindustrial%2C121&sr=1-1

it seems like there would be some identifier for motors with different measurement shafts. it's a bit confusing.

Most 2435's are 2mm, I see 2.3mm on 2440's and 2445's, then the 28xx's jump to 3.175mm

My take, a 3S battery would probably be a better upgrade. Replacing the motor with one of a higher KV may make it a bit faster at top speed, but it'll get a lot hotter and drain batteries faster. You'll probably also want to change it to a smaller spur gear, or it might even wind up slower than before.
