upgrades on a rustler 2.5

i just baught a nitro rustler 2.5 and it's in the mail. i was just wondering what, if any, upgrades should be made to it. i dont race or anything, it's jsut a truck to take out when i go riding in the dessert.
i just want to be able to have a fast truck that responds well in it's turning. i have heard that the truck doesn't have very good handling because of the powerfull motor. can this be a cheap fix? i dont have a whole bunch of money to put into this car, due to other exspensive sports.
any input would help, thanks

by dessert do mean like sand? cuase if so i would go and pick up a pair of sand paddles for it.

A rear aluminum or carbon fiber shock tower should be replaced, mine broke real quick. www.rdracingproducts.com sells good ones.
