i just installed all the parts i got for my new car. I'm going to take it out for a spin in a few. i went from 26mm rubber tires all around to 30mm in front and 34mm in back both semi hard foam (love that indy car look). motor saver filter. and an aluminum tune pipe. and i adjusted my gears so that it would engauge 2nd gear later. ill let you guys know how much of a difference that make =]

ok everything was going good till both my throttle and steering servos started twitching like crazy. than..... lost control when that happened and it took a nice jump about 10ft in the air but luckly it landed on some grass but broke the 2 bolts on the left side motor mount. i just wanted to knowif anyone has ever had that problem before could maybe tell me how to fix it. i was thinking that the batteries are dieing or maybe a loose wire. i checked for sand and stuff that might have gotten in it but i didnt see anything.

Sounds like maybe the receiver got wet? Did you go out of range?

i went out of range about 10 min prior to the incident. stupid mistake i made not putting the antenna all the way up. but i check it out and its def not wet

i wanted to just get some info before i went a bought new batteries. i really wish i had some rechargeables for this thing hehe. but what else could cause this that i could check before i went and bought new batteries? loose wire? bad connection?

You should check all servo wiring and make sure that none of them are damaged in any way. Also,as nitrogator has suggested you should invest in a Fail-safe Unit. Not only will a failsafe return the throttle/brake servo back to its set position if you go out of range, but also if it detects that battery voltage is lower than 3 volts. I used to have runaways all the time and have to spend money fixing my ride, but a failsafe is the best $20 i have ever spent to protect my valuable investment.

anyone have a good link to a fail safe? and I'm going to check all my wires and servos again for dirt and/or moisture. if that is all good then most likely its a low voltage from dieing batteries?

great. i guess ill just check out my connections and if so ill just get some new batteries. thanks man!

its only flipped into a patch of grass/dirt. i know it didnt get wet but ill still take it apart tomorrow and see whats up with it.

Hate to tell you this man, but the stock radio is a piece of $h!+. You'd be better off buying a good computer radio with a failsafe built in (Spektrum systems) or one like mine (JR XR2i, works great for the $100 i payed) and adding a FS. The stock radio just plain isn't worth it unless you have no cash. Mine started glitching about 2 months after I got it and steadily got worse until it just didn't work at all.

well i should be getting a revo 2.5R soon so if thats the case where it can't be fixed for minimum amount of money. I'm just gonna wait till i get my revo. I'm still gonna clean it up good and check my wires and batteries. its worth a shot

It will get heavier, but more durable. Is your car an MT? I would worry much about weight if your car was an MT, if it was an on-road, I would get some carbon fiber parts, but that's too expensive.

ya its a 1\8 MT I've had it for about a week now and broke one of the plastic steering colums, the replacement ones are aluminum so i figured why not spend another couple of hundred but just wasn't sure if it would be woth it
