Well nm in the other tranny. Would have been ripped off. Found what I needed at the lhs.

putting a black tranny in a 4909 would be like taking out your 3.3 and droping in a pro .15 plus its not a straight swap the brakes are different and so is the slipper assembly
just get the 4909 foc and you will have a very strong trans ,hell i run a big block on a stock grey tranny with platic gear with zero issues

Now what gears to I put greese on in this tranny cause its pretty dry.

None tranny is supposed to be dry just put a lil bearing oil on your bearings and thats it. If you just have to put some kinda lube in it just use a light weight oil but they come from factory dry and thats how i run mine

Ah gotcha well I got some lube from lhs he had cases and an foc. Just got the tranny back together. And any other time I would be scared with this many prices left lol.

And it looks like he gave me the wrong foc kit cause it dont fit in the truck now.

Nm I'm being retarted swapped the shafts.

Ok now that I can use the excuse it's my first time it's done. Will test it tomorrow. Also got me some new wiring for the back so I don't have to use a glow plug igniter and new body mounts. New head protecter. He almost had a set of rpm a arms too I would have weant ahead and snatched up but ordered them instead.

I use wax based lube on my transmission gears. Fairly dry and doesn't seem to harm plastic. Then again, I usually end up upgrading trans innards with robinson racing anyway, then I put a healthy coat of wax lube in there.

I keep a bottle of that stuff around for spur gears, cvd and universal joints. Seems to help with wear items, especially ones exposed to the elements as dirt doesn't stick to it like it would oil/grease.

i got bored a couple of days ago and was reading around on the traxxas site and was looking at their hop-up section and after reading about some of their builds they actually use ceramic grease on the gears.i've been doing this for years and trans grears last me ages

yeah he gave me some kind of synthetic grease to put on and just have to put a lil bit so thats what it did.... the guys been in busness for 30 years so i trust him lol
