twinn engine nitro

That would have to be one madly cut-up crank to be able to pull fuel from the carb at two opposite points.

I will however bow down in the dust if it turns out to be functional.

It's much easier to do a twin engine with valves. Negates the issue with shared crank case.

yes, it certainly would be a very interesting looking crank, I'd LOVE to see it if it looks like I envision it

You'd think if Sirio did make a functional 2-stroke nitro v-twin they'd be proud to and showcase some video, wouldn't you.

I've googled my gluteus maximus off, and still nothing but the same pictures taken at Nürenberg toy fair in 08. :)

After looking at that engine again it appears to be a 60* block. If the crank is made the way I think it is then there would be 2 ports in the crankshaft. One would enter at the front at the carb and exit and twist 30* counterclockwise and time with the 2nd cylinder (to the left, viewing from the front). The second port of entry on the shaft would open 180 degrees opposite the 1st port but twist to exit 30* clockwise and time with the 1st cylinder (to the right).

From what I can tell, this works. I had to grap a pen and doodle a little to reassure myself though :)

*edit*

Oh.. I didnt' realize that is a MFR made mill. I assumed it was somebody's custom project. That's cool!

a little different version

What makes that Sirio soo nice is the MAJOR weight savings of basically only having a single block below the heads. That's a huge power/weight advantage.

You can get a better look at it here

Guess we've gotten a bit off topic. Sorry Steve.

The way I learned how to do a twin engine truck was to do research....They sell double engine kits on ebay for my T maxx..I went onto the picture, copied it and studied where the stock chassis was modded and performed the task of duplicating that.......I started my project for a twin engined with twin steering T Maxx out of my 4909 T Maxx two hours ago and heres where I'm at so far.To make it steer in the rear I'm going to put another T Maxx front clip on it and dremel out a spot for the rear steer servo......The hardest part is having the tools to do it...a dremel with full assorted tool bit caddy comes in handy for sure...........Its a work in progress so enjoy.......

Heres an update pic to the project of it done.I know the rear tires are reversed ;-it grabs better in the loose dirt and hill climbs that way.So far its been holding up pretty well....Its got two lightened flywheels, aluminum 3 shoe clutches, hardened bells ceramic bearings and hardened spurgear to handle the abuse........The rear steer idea had to be scrapped because of fitment issues between the engines and the steering security screws for the bellcrank also there would of been clearance issues between the servo and exhaust pipe so I'm making another custom T-maxx , 4 wheel steer with wide track out of another oldschool TMaxx I have in a crate somewhere........
