time for the electronics! Here's the step by step of the radio box/tray. Made the box out of the same plexiglass and assembled with CA glue. Made the tray out of .155 CF. You can see the battery box in the last couple of pics as well. Made that out of plexiglass also, that's actually a permanent enclosure. I'll need to make another one for my backup battery. But the radio box can be opened just in case I need to change a crystal someday. I also refabbed the fuel tank trays out of .155 CF because the plexiglass cracke when I strapped down the tanks tightly, besides, it's pretty and a crapload stronger... enjoy! I have... :)

more..

I removed all those little fuel tanks. Never had a problem getting fuel but I think it was affecting throttle response... I think all that line was slowing down the backpressure response. Since I've been running this truck a lot lately I've been able to dial in these engines really well.... this thing is just stupid fast, but it didn't like to run smooth at higher rpm's. I dug up a 120cc tank I have and rigged it between the front bumper mounts. I might end up getting anothe one in the rear as well. I'll go through 120cc in about 6 or 7 minutes of running. Took like half a dozen zip ties but it's nice n snug. I hafta chop up the body a bit but oh well. I wish I could say I would be runnin tomorrow (today) but my rear diff is gone. I havn't disassembled to find out exactly what it is. I figure it's either the cup or the pinion. I have RRP in there but I wouldn't doubt that the pinion is fried. Ijust can't afford to drop the big bucks on UE stuff.

Have you tried looking at the Fastlane 1/8 scale diff case Bulkless setup...front and rear cases/bulkheads for about 120 w/ shipping from E-bay......then they use standard 7.5 diff gears.....much stronger than the 1/10ths scale diffs....

yep, seen those when they came out, I have a lot of Fastlane stuff on my truck. (towers and bulks). But is that $120 PLUS diffs?

n/m, just looked that up. I couldn't find it on E-bay but 2coolrc has them. the're more expensive but I get the idea. I would still need to buy the actual diffs as well. That's still a good chunk of change. I'm gonna tear it down here in a couple minutes and find out what exactly failed.

gears are perfectly fine.... cup screws sheared off and the cup is garbage... I was actually waiting for that to happen. I'm gonna go grab me a stocker but I'm gonna need an alluminum cup with bigger screws. Fastlane makes a set I know. Couple other manufacturers as well. I'll have to look around I guess. What do you guys recommend?

looks like the fastlane cup is definately cheaper but it's 6061. Everybody raves about Maximizer cupz and they are 7075

and you should be able to get 2 sets of these for less than 60 bucks.....150 bucks is way cheaper than the UE stuff....350 fro the cases and they want like 120 for gear sets......yeah right...I set mine up for 150 bucks......same as what my buddy paid for his 1/10th scale bulkless setup from fastlane directly.....

that's cool. I'm just sayin that's a lot more money than I wanna spend right now. Besides, I kinda don't need it. I spent so much money in this hobby last year just cuz of buyin stuff cuz I wanted it. I'm tryin to only buy things that I NEED to keep me goin. That's still over $100 for what essentially is diff cases and bulkheads, which is a great idea don't get me wrong. I've been interested in that kinda setup since they emerged. The thing is I don't need bulkheads. I'm tryin to get into the habit of not buying things I don't need. technically, I don't need diff cases either. yeah I know they make everything smoother and add lots of life to the diffs, but it's just more than I need. The other thing is that I'm really tryin to stay away from goin to 1/8 diffs. Mostly because I don't want or need to lower my gear ratio's any. I have so much HP that it would just be a waste. It's got more than enough power to run through the stock diffs let alone a lower ratio. Fastlane makes that kinda diff case/bulk comb for stock ratios also. If I ever trash a bulkhead or something I'll probably upgrade to that. But I've decided I'm gonna get me a set of Maximizer cups. This way I utilize the RRP gearing I already have (and seems to be holding up just fine) and save lots of money. 2 cups will cost me about $70 and I get to keep my stock diff ratios.
