Christ, seems like I've been putting off these pics like forever... actually, I have. sorry to those who are following. For those who are familiar with my project maxx, I've really changed the entire purpose really. At first I just wanted an overpowered street/drift MT. But over the past few months of visiting the forum and watchin vids I realized that I just wanted a truck to beat the poop out of. So out went the front mounted engine idea, also did away with the 4 wheel steering kit for the front steering (although I'm still gonna use the bracket. you'll see in picture). As far as parts go I have just about everything, a few things will show up this week. Only thing I havn't got yet are my diffs, but that's all I need. I'm for sure on the front and rear tanks but I'm not positive about the chassis mounted ones. There are just sittin there in the pictures... not really installed yet. The chassis plate was custom made for me. It's just a copy of the New Era twin engine chassis except the 8 engine mount holes were moved 1/8" to the rear. The end of one of the drive shafts was in tranny territory (actually the end screw). The wheels are TI22, I shot them with black plasti-dip aerosol to get the flat look. Personally, I think it looks badass. Well, enough of my blabbing.

more pics... hope this isn't a problem mods

mmmmmmmmmmmm..........shhhiiiiiiiinnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyy.....

I see your using the RC-Solutions spur. I gave my to a friend and he hasn't used it yet. We are waiting on his current clutch to die.

Is that one pic a swaybar of some sort?

Yes, that particular pic is of the front end. you can see I left the 4-wheel steer bracket (that's supposed to hold a servo) installed. I'm going to mount one of the fuel tanks on it.. fits perfectly. You can also see the sway bars.

Lessen, looking really nice it looks mean and blings at the same time.

just got some more parts today! Allum steering assembly, steering servo skid, and wheelie bar. only thing I need is RRP diff gears... and voila!

lmao bro, it takes me forever to get pics let alone a video. Seriously, I don't know when a vid will be c'mon. As long as this truck is finished and broke in in time I'll be taking it to the Virginia bash. I'll see if I can borrow my brother in-laws cam.... I'm sure one of the guys at the bash will take some video too so that'll give everyone a lil peek

woohoo! Am I in luck or what.... my LHS just happend to carry RRP differential gear set in stock... picked 'em up today along with some threadlocker.... damn, I can smell the nitro now... :)

I can't believe with that kind of power, your even considering anything but UE diffs. If nothing else, it will either prove RRP is good stuff, or just better than stock.

I didn't know about them actually. Obviously there good stuff by the way you mentioned it. Well, I'll use the RRP's and if they strip I'll know where to go next. I guess I should of asked or researched more but I've heard so many recommendations on RRP stuff I guess I just assumed they'd be ok. I guess I was a little naive on this purchase. eh, rookie pains I guess. But thanks for the info Olds, much appreciated.

The UE diffs are expensive and change the gear ration some, but from what I've read, you just don't have a respectable supermaxx without them.

If you decide that you need them goto Hobby Shop NJ and do a search for 13540. This is the part # of the diff kit. It includes parts for 2 complete UE diffs. It's about $250, but considering all of what you get, it's not really that bad.

2 al diff cases, all bearings, all gears, shim kit, case seals...

This is also where I bought my supermaxx shocks that I run on my savage and maxx.

hey, thanks for the link! That's a lot cheap than what i've seen. the 8-spider set is only like 280. pretty good deal actually. As soon as I blow mine I'll switch to those, lol

holy shizzle man... lol. Well, I'm workin today but they didn't need me for Sunday. I don't think there's enough bulk propane for me to work 2 weekend shifts. So I got Sunday and Mon. off so it'll be wrenchin time over the weekend... I can't wait. I'm hoping my front turnbuckles and center CVDs arrive today... they should I would imagine. I'll keep ya posted

well, I just finished rebuilding 1 of 2 Maxx diffs with the RRP spur and pinion. It's a shitload nicer now. the spur doesn't slide in and out at all. Stocker slid quite a bit. Also, the outdrives are a lot smoother without the side to side action they had before. I'm sure a lot of that had to do with the plastic shim that's 'supposed' to be there but wasn't... Traxxas fiddlesticking sux. RRP gives you 10 shims to make it nice and smooth w/o any lateral motion. I guarantee I'll never purchase a Traxxas vehicle. I'm glad the last one was a gift. hehe. Well, I can't say that I think it'll hold up to 5.4 horsepower but it's worth a shot. Besides, if it does hold up $70 is a pretty good deal I think.

What are you using for diff cups? I've noticed my maximizer cups are showing considerable wear now. I think I've run about 7 gallons through them and they are definatly getting sloppy. There isn't a damn thing I can do about it either. Where the outdrive shafts go through the ring gear and the end of the cup are worn... guess I better save up for a new set.
