The elevation of which my track is on is at 2500 feet.
Write now my hsn is set at 3 1/2 turns out.
Is that lean or is that about right????????
I've been tuning my niro rustler for a week and can't get it right.
I'm about to:jittery:

I am up at 2500 feet as well. It took me awhile to get the corelation. Richen from factory about 3/4 of a turn.....then back down by hour increments. It will run like crap for the first two or three adjustments. Make sure to run a few laps in between each adjustment. The higher altitude makes it a bit more difficult to get it right so I stay on the rich side with real good smoke....then when the engine is hot I lean it one or two hours and I am good to go.

You might have to richen it a bit the next time you run....but use the same method....richen ....get it hot.....lean just a bit......,making sure to keep good smoke.

Hope this helps...it seems to work for me and has eliminated some frustratin. ;)

OMFG.....OK please understand when you give a needle setting it means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING......where Talon may be at the same elevations as you his climate may be totally different.....you will need to re-tune your toy when the temperature and humidity (and yes elevation) change....this is not something you can set it and forget it....

I know that.
But I have never being able to "run" it.
It always bogs.

OK, let's try this again.

Why don't you detail what engine you have, what it's in and what it's doing (or not doing) and then we can help you get it dialed in. Remember, none of us are with you seeing what your rig is doing, so we can only go on how you describe the issues you are struggling with.

It's much better to go overboard with details rather than being vague. The better you describe your problems, the better the advice you will receive.

OK
I have a nitro rustler and it will run fine for about 10 min.
Then it will not go at all.I have to give it WOT (with I have only done once or twice) to start it.And once it starts it won't go it'll just sit there WOT.
So i just gave up.

Is there smoke coming from the pipe while you are running it for the 10 minutes you can? Have you broke in the engine yet?

Why don't you detail what engine you have

Since you haven't shared what ENGINE you have, my only suggestion is to break the manual out and set the needles to their stock settings and tune from there.

You want to tune the HSN first. Best thing to do is to invest in a temp. gun and shoot for a temp. in the 230-250 range. Like Konz mentions, you also want to make sure you get a nice smoke trail when you're giving it throttle.

Once you get the HSN dialed-in, you can tune the LSN. As it idles, pinch and hold the fuel line as close to the carb. as you safely can and count in seconds. If you get to three or four and it dies, you've got it. Any shorter and the LSN is too lean, any longer and it's too rich.

I'M sorry but i'm still kind of sick and having a hard time remembering things.

I have a TRX 2.5 engine in my rustler
