I have the 2.5 engine. Recently bought a RD Logics curved pipe. The manifold mounted perfectly, but am having a problem with the pipe itself. The pipe fits, but the fitting for the line coming from the gas tank is blocked by the air filter housing. Can I bore a hole in the chassis and point the exhaust down instead of out the side of the truck? That is the only way the pipe will fit with the line attached. Any help is appreciated.

I am new to this but I don't see why not. the pressure is still there but it is just blowing down instead of out. don't take my word for it however because i don't know for sure.

That's what I was wondering about was if pointing the exhaust down instead of out would cause any engine problems.

Thanks. It is my only option for mounting it. Will there be any way for me to know that oil could be collecting in the pipe?

It's normal, and actually a good thing. It lets you know you're getting proper lube in the engine. High revving blows it out and keeps it clear. Some oil will usually drip out when it's off. If you're not seeing smoke, and not getting oil, you're running dangerously lean.

Have any pics of the pipe in it's current installed location?

You can also buy silicon exhaust extenders to help direct the oil spray further away from your truck, depending on the pipe...

Don't have any at the moment. I don't have the engine bolted back in yet. I can snap one with the engine in place so you can see what the layout looks like if you want me to.

Another thing. Will I have to worry about any dirt collecting in the pipe since it will be pointing at the ground. If so, would a fine screen over the opening help the problem?

There's no problem with dust or dirt getting into the pipe as long as the engine is running. If it stalls while rolling over, you run a slim chance of getting dirt in it. It will NOT reach the engine as long as you have a good fuel filter. Just to be on the safe side, I also run a basic filter in the return pressure line. It serves 2 purposes. One, it smooths the flow of pressure, and two it keeps dirt from reaching the tank if and ever gets into the pipe.

Nice setup. I'll have to look into adding a filter to the pressure line. Did you bent your oun tubing where you connect your lines, or is it readily available? Thanks for the info.

A lot has changed since I took that pic, but if you're referring to the aluminum, it's not tubing but the roll bar and head protector for the Savage, painted silver.
I didn't show a current pic, since that filter is now UNDER the roll bar along with the battery monitor.

Today's version, with twin tanks and the return line filter just visible under the roll bar:
