I cannot decide between these two buggies... Going to replace my Mayhem pro with one of these....

My main hangup is if C-Hub or Pivot Ball front suspension would be better.....

Thanks

both are good cars, pivot ball typically has more steering, though the jammin has great steering while still being C-hub. i like C-hub for less maintainance, though it should hardly be a deciding factor. which has more local parts support for you?

whats wrong w/ur mayhem, i'm lookin at this. like to hear ur reasoning.

btw, chris what besides GS does pitstop carry parts-wise?

yes tell us, what's wrong with your mayhem ????? after 3 races only....

Nothing wrong with my Mayhem. The buggy is still pratically brand new! I just would like to try something else. I personally don't like all the chassis flex the Mayhem Pro has... as much as I'm going to be racing 1/8 buggies I would like to have a better build buggy such as the Jammin or Thunder Tiger. Nothing against the Mayhem, it is a fast buggy and easy to drive.... another aspect are the parts avaliability at the LHS/Track. They carry both the TTR and Ofna parts.

I would think the C-Hub would be less maintance... less to go wrong... Still trying to decide.

oh you just want change..
I can very well understand that but the longer you race a buggy , the better you will get with it, so you better take one you really love and will keep a long time this time
both seem to be good cars right now
the ttr s3 is very innovating, the jammin seems more déjà vue (+-sacker)
and could bore you quicker, unless it drives like a winner perhaps...
personally I would prefer a buggy that goes together smoothly during servicing and c-hub to, so I would go for the jammin (or XB8...) but I saw one and found the plastics looked a bit Revell kit-like

I have hear only one bad thing about the TT and it's not really a big deal...but If you need to service your Center Diff you have to takke the front and rear off to give the clearance to remove the center diff....the shafts get hung on the tunnel when you lift the center out....and If you do get it out w/o having to do that, try putting it back in w/o doing it.........but that's really not a bad issue cause if you're tearing your center diff apart anyway you're probably accounting for a lot of time to do it......

Oh That's why my sig never showed up....damn I can't beleive I didn't notice the check box before

I know how long has that been there in my face...I type to fast to look at hte page....I actually type while I look at he keyboard.....don;t look for each key just look down

Hey Plaid,
Some guy in South FL said the same thing about the S3, but the guy I bought it from said he'd never heard that before. From the looks of it, the center diff should pop right out pretty easily. The S3 handles exceptionaly well, turns on a dime and has excellent brakes. It's an excellent buggy.

TTR s3 I like the brake rods are both "above the table", seems easier

you can get it cheaper than the x1cr
in fact it is the cheapest buggy around and carries the latest technology
dino-chassis, 2-way tank, double action inboard shocks, spiralcut gears, pivotball steering, new easy clutchshoes spring system ...
as it can hang already with the best, the tt would be the way to go

whats the goin price for the TT, i've seen a few, but never gave them much thought. any way to sure up the mayhem for less flex?

TTR s3 costs 385.00 in Asia, 450.00 in us
640.00 in europe

the mayhem chassis can be de-flexed by adding an alu brace or mounting some steering rod along the motormount to the tankpost, with 2 screws , there should also be a 1piece motormount available soon it seems

as to the Jammin' I like : the universal driveshafts, 4 discs, the 1piece motormount , the z-brace

since you got one give it a try and lets dispel this awful rumor before it starts....

The center diff can easily be removed without removing the front and rear components. I just did it a couple of time without any problems. You need to angle it a little bit but it is easy. This is with the stock center diff holders that are in 2 pieces. I will try it with the one piece aluminum ones when I put it all back together and report my findings.

Rob,
How do you like your S3? Mine handles great! Have you seen my pics?

Plaid,
I don't feel like pulling it apart just to find out, I've sked several others who own one and they all ask me "who told you that crap" and emphaticaly deny it being an issue. Not to mention the fact that I've examined the buggy closely and can't see how anyone could arrive at that conclusion. The only weak point I see so far is where the chassis attaches to the diff housing, a slight crack in the plastic housing, that's it. It's a very easy buggy to drive. Let me know if you're interested in the RS7 or the Max M5.
PS,
I switched to Odonnell 30%, and both motors (P5 & Crono RS3) seem to run bettr and are easier to tune.

Haven't had time to work on it so it has not left the bench. I bought it on ebay assembled but new with a bunch of hop-ups. I am in the process of taking it apart and changing out the diff fluids and shock oils as well as adding a few more hop-ups. I just need the time to get the thing finished and get the v-spec broken in. At least I got a good start on it yesterday.
