Well, getting closer to running this thing. Did like RobMob and picked up a V-Spec over at Ultimate hobbies. Couldn't believe the price of a P7!!! (don't worry Plaidfish, still with you on our deal if you get it back)

Anyhow, went today to buy servos and an air filter. The one guy I like dealing with over there suggested the O.S. air filter for .21 motors over the Motor Saver and the Mugen filter as he said the MS ones break while racing, and the Mugen is basically like the O.S. If I wanted to save money I could get the Associated one which is a cheaper version with a plastic center versus the metal center of the O.S. He really had no comment on the OFNA filters.

What do you guys that race buggies typically use? Or what do you recommend for the V-Spec?

I was also checking out servos. He said not to use the 645mg for steering as it was too slow. With so many choices I thought I would hit you guys up first for your thoughts before going back to look at servos.

I jsut picked up a HS-5645MG which is more powerful and faster than the 645. Its around 165 oz./in. at .18 seconds I think...the 645 is 133 at .25 seconds iirc.

5945mg is 180 oz/in at .13 sec. i use 2 of them and love em. i also use the 5925mg for throttle which is 133 oz/in at .08 sec fast enough for an abs function to actually work. also look into the futaba 9450 and 9451, airtronics 94357 and 94358. all of those are great servos for a 1/8 buggy or monster truck.

I've heard good things about the 5645's. What are you running it in, '48?

I have a S9350 for steering in my S3. I'll havn't decided if I'm gonna use the filter that came with my S3 or the one that came with my RG. originally I had purchased an RG witha PS cuz I thought it would fit... it didn't. But that engine came with the nice alluminum center filter. My bump start RG came with the cheaper plastic one.
