Another TRX4 rig with shortened chassis using a New Bright body that was modified to accept the Traxxas Pro Scale Lighting kit..Custom made winch plate to conceal Traxxas winch on front frame rails so only the winch hook is visible for a clean install in front bumper. There is still access from drivers side front wheel to push button for 'freespool' feature. New Bright front grille was removed and replaced with a Traxxas front grille to accept the Pro Scale lights. Color matched center insert beadlock wheels. This was started as a challenge of paint color. Everyone had told me beige is the worst paint color to do anything with because you can never make it look cool or look good. Challenge accepted, so off I began and turned out what you see here. Made my own bimini top, completed the interior with fabric using a cheap Injora 1/10 scale interior cut to fit the Bronco body. Led lights added in front bumper of New Bright body along with cowl lights near each side mirror...

Body is secured on rig in rear with bumper clip permanently attached to inside of body that slides into frame rails and the front using existing body post mounts with clips after drilling corresponding hole in hood of New Bright body.. no magnets, no velcro.

Thanks Onward..the cowl lights are actually scene lights from the TRX4 sport expedition rack...couldn't find anything like I wanted so I went with those and it worked out fine. 👍

Do you run two batteries since you have the additional lights and winch?
I think I need to run my roof lights off a secondary battery and remote. If so, I'll add a winch to that system as well.

Hey Onward 👋
I'm running just one battery on this rig, most of the lighting components are tied into the Traxxas Pro Scale Lighting system and the power for the winch is sourced directly from the Pro Scale also..

Very cool! Nice you got that on one battery. When I made my Rovair I used the pro scale lighting system too. I've tried (with splitters) to include my roof lighting, but can't get it to turn on. Didn't think it would be an issue with LEDs. I need to get back to it and figure it out. I should swap this for my GT5 receiver too, I need more channels 😊

Traxxas being Traxxas they are very proprietary with just about anything they produce...if you go outside their 'box' you have to have workarounds, fixes and sometimes nothing is going to work with it. Even the Pro Scale module ports they are very secretive as to which port can/does what function..(no real literature can be found with conclusive info) I've had a little success using other ports at the risk of frying the accessory or the lighting module..even if you get past that you still relegated to use their plugs/adapters for that system 🤔

Yea exactly. Because I have a couple bodies now for the TRX4 I figured I'd try to use the same light distribution system. I thought I was clever with splitters, but I've been fooled. I've got 13 lights to run in total. I've got a mess of wires to tidy up too. I just need to get back to troubleshooting...plus my magnetic body mounts are cooperating as I hoped, it's a mess 🤣

Your build are MUCH cleaner.

If you just need power to run some random lights without getting too fancy I've had good success on a couple other rigs with this nifty Traxxas power tap if you are still using a Traxxas esc. It goes on the esc wiring side, not on the actual battery side and then you have a external power tap drawing straight from the battery you plug in..eliminates having a second battery. Just throwing out an option..👍
