Hi guys, did this over a year ago, wasn't on these forums yet, posted it on Facebook local club then, hope you aren't bored of this model.
Right from the start I added the pro scale light kit, and steel rc4wd rims that matched the plastic traxxas, and original gm wheels

Started to come together without any problems, when I got to the front axles I noticed where the axle shafts go in the housing there was no seal and if water got in it could stay in the housing tub cause the knuckle carrier reduces slightly. First I just filled it with boat flex shaft grease, but then I went to the junk/treasure drawers and found automotive connectors that had round rubber seals that crimp on the terminals and pull into the plastic of the connector to seal it, they fit perfectly.
Got the light kit in its place and the supplied electric equipment.
Swapped out the black steel screws for a yeah racing set of stainless screws, put each size bag into an old decided case kit to cut down on Search time
After it was all together with rc4wd wrangler duratac tires all I could do was look at it and take pictures. Even set up a trailer I had that never got hooked up to anything yet
Of course staying inside was no good for me and not to long after joined a crawler club and we did some snow crawling, that was fun! But the scale look of the duratrac tires didn't have good grip in deep powder so after careful and extensive research and test I ended up with many sets of tires here's some pitbull rock beast xor 2.2 with 120mm shocks

Yes many tires! All with different rims I got Chinese rocks tyre cause they are a direct copy of rock beast xor, but they are so hard they would make better drift tires than crawler. After that disappointment I broke down and got official pit bull tires and foams, with no foams if you try and handle the pit bulls, they are so floppy and supple they squish together easy and the rubber so sticky they stay stuck together on the inside

Great looking collection. I'm assuming I bought knock off rock beasts. All 4 tires split at the ring on the side wall in under a year.

Hey thanks, you can never have too many tires!
Ya, the Chinese are notorious for copying everything! What did the lettering say on the sidewall? I also got pitbull rock beast 1.9's, non xor, they look more scale and perform amazingly. Went on a crawl ride with a group on time...this little kid, 5 or 6 yrs old had a trx-4 sport with rock beasts, he was following his dad everywhere that was running a full mod competition crawler! Blew everybody's minds and was the highlight of the day!
Tried stainless skid plates, they act like magnets on rocks, resisting sliding over so I took those off! Of course any snow crawler needs a set of deep tracks in his inventory!, put the hobbywing fusion 1800(old model) and it's amazing! Slower crawl speeds faster top speed, and the battery lasts 4 times longer! Didn't have problems with the stock servo but put in a ridiculously strong one power directly to the battery! Put the tow hooks right on the stock bumper, made a custom winch mount and cut the receiver part from another rear bumper bracket and glued it under the front bumper, the idea came from a 1980 pick up I had and made so I could put the winch front or back, just incase the closest winch point was behind where I got stuck. But on the trx-4 it was to low and crashing into everything so it broke off at the glue. Got a replica interior that even has Guage lights, cooling fan, and servo to turn the steering wheel

To go winching you after need extra cable chains or even an anchor, after extensive searching I found the perfect size plastic bin with lid at a thrift store, they weren't selling the containers, so I had to buy it full small bobbins of different colour thread, lol
Stuck it to the rear plate of the skid plate kit with double sided tape, you can pick up the truck buy the container! Also added fake gas tank and tailpipes

Sadly enough, I am bored with my own collection but always enjoy looking at everybody else's rigs.
The TRX4 kit has always been on my want list too close to Christmas and can't do it.
I was hoping it would get me excited again about RC.

Just swap out some tires or try a new body, it will seem like a new rig! And of course post some pics or action videos! That will keep the enthusiasm at 💯, I also have an addiction to buying more rc's, so just managing and storing the collection becomes a new part of the hobby

Ya! Thanks for the comment.
One little detail I want to attempt is to cut out the drivers window then stick it back inside the body partially open, just to see the interior more

Just cut the top of the window off with s razorblade.

Just cut the top of the window off with s razorblade.
That would maybe be better than cutting the whole window out...saw it done like that, once, so I was on the fence thinking it might reduce body strength. Now after a bunch of tumbles and many scratches not so worried

Better roll them up. The temperature is dropping faster then the sun!
That rust bucket doesn't have a heater. So, the windows have to stay opened so the windows don't fog up.
