Hello,
I've got engine problems. Here's my story. I ran my 2.5 till I decided it wasn't fast enough, upgraded to the 3.3. Ran probably 1.5 gallons through it with no problems. Was learning to tune the fuel mixture a little but no biggie. Then I thought I could take this a step further and reduce the weight of my Revo by removing the TRX EZ Start and reverse and replaced the ignition with a pull start. I didn't buy a hot shot or anything (noob) and simply tried to start it with the pull start, got mad, and gave up when of course it didn't start. So I left the fuel in the tank/lines out in the unheated garage over winter (I'm in northeastern Wisconsin) and in early spring bought After Run Oil and added it without draining the fuel. Then a week ago I decided to start it. So I drained the old fuel out and replaced it with new fuel and used my newer hot shot 2 to get it running. It ran through almost one full tank when I decided to add old fuel to the mixture. It ran through almost the entire tank then suddenly quit. Next day I drained the fuel and filled it with new again. Still wouldn't start and I replaced the glow plug to no avail. Did I destroy my engine or can someone help me?

Like I said. It was running. I can do it again but not sure it will work.

You might need to clean your carb it mighta sucked up some gunk from the old fuel.. You could take it apart to clean it with wd-40 ( have done it and it seemed to work for me) and spray some in the engine for good messure.. Hope this helps.. cause old fuel will gel up, and get stuck everywhere.

I'm going to go out and try this right now. If this doesn't work, then I'll try Carb Cleaner which is only a couple bucks. That might just be what is the problem. I'll update my status later either way. If anyone has any other suggestions in the mean time I'll take 'em.

So I said I'd give an update, and as it turns out WD-40 didn't work for me. I never got to the store to get carb cleaner. But I did take apart my engine to find that the inside engine mount (TRX 5360) was broken. Which I found out is only $11. However, in the process of taking apart my engine piece by piece to clean it with Dawn soap, I ruined my piston head. Guess what? Putting your steel pliers into the exhaust port to stop the piston head from allowing the crank shaft from rotating while taking off the gear that connects to the flywheel and drive-train, f's up the aluminum piston head ($50/set). :(

I will remember that for next time. Actually if I didn't take off my cooling head I do have a tool to hold the piston in place, but didn't think it was necessary to put it back on, I took the shortcut which now has made the top edge of the piston to be knurled over about 4mm wide by about 1mm down at a 45°.
Anyone know where to find a sleeve /piston set cheaper than $50? I guess the other question is, since I'm having problems with it, should I save up and replace the entire engine?

The dynamite mach. 19 is a good upgrade and is cheaper than the 3.3

Do you or anyone have experience in the dynamite mach 2 .19? I'm pretty much sold on TRX engines, except for my history of beating them too much they break, but wouldn't mind trying something new.
