I say why honestly. Seems like it would be a full on pain in the arse to do. However if you do want to do it there shouldn't be much you need. If I remember right I read somewhere this engine had a short shaft in it??? I am I correct??

yes it has the short shaft but the flywheel and clutches and all that stuff is staying on it so the onlything that i have to do is bolt up the cluth bell and its ready to go in i think and the engine mounts will allow you to push the engine foward if it needs it so i dont think that should be a problem the only thing that i am worried about is the throttle linkage

Dude if that is a slide carb you should think about the ofna slide carb linkage kit. You should be able to mount it just fine with that. I did it on my Nitro Mt when I had a 21 in it with no problems and it is the same setup as the RS4

2.5

I have put the 2.5 in my rs4 3 type ss, and the only problem i can see you having would be the electric start. I bought the engine with a recoil and I had to trim some of the differential as well as my graphite upper deck to get it to fit right, so if yours still has the roto start system that might be even more of a problem, but I've never really looked at the roto start system up close so maybe it will fit better than a recoil. Other than that it's an awesome engine especially in an on road car, that engine screams especially if your stepping up from the stock .15 FE engine. I'll try to get a picture of mine for you. I say go for it, you won't be disapointed in the speed.

Ok guys
I am trying to put a TRX 2.5 in mt HPI RS4 3

I have rebuilt my engine carb and installed the 2 speed clutch from a 4tec.

The trouble i am having is the clutch lines up but the mount holes in the chassis are off by 1/2 a screw hole.

What engine mount did you use?

2 speed or single.

And for the why bother comment. dude get a differnet ho0bby if you dont get it!
