Hey guys,

Is it true that a one piece mount will allow you to take your mill off and put it back on exactly as it was, without having to check your mesh? This is what I have been told and I was curious as to if this were true. Thanks guys.

If you don't take the engine mount off then you can do that, but if you take the mount off wether you have a one piece or two piece you will need to check the mesh/.
 
So what you are saying, is that as long as you remove your mill only and not the mount itself then you are ok? To me, it seems that any time you remove your mill you would need to check the mesh. I am looking for a solution that would allow me to adjust the setting on my Werks clutch during a race day and have the mill back on and ready to rock in a matter of minutes if that is possible. Thanks

I do that with my revo all the time. As long as you don't change the size of your cb or spur your good to go.

The one piece mount that I am speaking of is for my two Jammin rides. There is a picture on Jammins website www.jamminproducts.com and look under CRT Option parts. It is a CNC piece. I had heard that a one piece mount can help when setting mesh on the fly... kind of a set it and forget it type of deal. I am just curious as to if this would work before I go and spend $50 on it. I am always a bit skeptical about what I hear at the track. Some of the folks I race with are claiming to be the know-ti-all of the RC world and I am just cautious about what I believe.

They also help stiffen the chassis.

Tom, as long as you don't move the mount when taking out the engine you won't have to reset the mesh. The engine won't be a different size, the clutchbell and the spur will go together perfect like....

That makes sense. I just wanted to make sure it would be something beneficial to me and not something that is expensive and flashy. LOL As long as it works I am cool with it. How much stiffer does it make the chassis and is a stiff chassis beneficial? Thanks

The chassis stiffness arguement is one of those what is better issues. IMO a stiff chassis is better, but other think opposite.
 
Tom, makes sense to me. The top holes are not slotted, so that setting is static no matter what unless something else slips or lets go.

Cool. Thanks for the info guys. I think I have made the decision to go ahead and put the one piece mount on the CRT. It does make sence that it would actually work for what I was hoping it would. The only question that still remains is the benefit of a stiffer chassis. Thanks again guys for all the help.

if you run on a well groomed track the chassis being stiffer will hold a better line on a hard corner and help stay straight on the occasional bumps....if the track is choppy then too stiff is bad thing......the chassis will get "shocked" and stgart bouncing around more than it should......

So what you are saying is that is that track condition is more important to chassis flex than say the wear on the mill from the chassis flexing from the torque of the mill? Thanks man.

Tom, a good lesson learned about a too stiff chassis is the result of the TTR S3 chassis. TTR offers an optional conventional chassis for the S3 now to replace the "tunnel" chassis.
 
So was the tunnel chassis too stiff? What kind of damage did it cause and what did the conventional chassis offer? I am sorry for asking what is probably a dumb answer.... but I am not familiar with the Thunder Tiger situation. Thanks
