I can't get my truggy to start without removing the air filter and putting a little fuel in the carb. I prime the engine and it still doesn't start once i put some fuel in the carb, about 5-10 pulls and it starts right up. How do i fix this? Also how can i get the engine to start with fewer pulls? Car is a Kyosho Inferno ST US Sports with gxr28 engine.

One more question, i just got a hobbico hotshot 2 glow starter and i charge it fully but only lasts for about 6-9 starts. i've only charged it 2 times so far. Why is this problem evident?

Thank for any help

Is this a new engine or used? If new is broken in yet or used with how much fuel through it? Properly broke in and well tuned is the key to easy starts.

How long it's on the plug each start helps determine the number of starts you get on a charge. An easy starting engine will get a lot more starts out of a charge on the igniter.

Used engine about 8 150cc tanks. It was properly broken by my friend before he sold it to me.

My friend told me i need to charge the igniter a few more times before it can hold a charge, is this true?

it may get better if you cycle it a few times....i had an old one that wouldn't hold a charge and i charged it up and then stuck a plug in it to discharge it and repeated that a few times and it did get better....not a great deal better but still noticeably better...but you need to take in consideration the fact that i have absolutely no idea what I'm talkin about so.........

We need some more info from you.
What's the temp at the plug when it's completely warmed up and running. That will help us to determine the needle settings. How are you trying to prime it? If you do it by plugging the exhaust while pulling the starter, make sure you pull a few times AFTER seeing it reach the carb. THEN put on the glow starter and fire it up.
