Have you swapped in another motor to test yet?
I had a motor connector fail inside the heatshrink. I searched and searched for problems... It took me to order the motor and was unplugging the 'bad' motor before I found it! I was scratching my head and trying to avoid buying a new motor for a week before I got it figured. 🙄😂

like I said before, def not a Castle expert but the pole count and kv # doesn’t seem right

Have you factory reset the ESC, zero’d out the transmitter, re-bound and re-calibrated?
I've done the calibration, rebind, I'm not sure how to factory reset the esc/

Yeah, that doesn't seem right. That is a 2850kVmotor, and it's a 4 pole. Hmm.

@majin - can you try a different motor?

i was thinking that i did something to the motor, sadly i dont have one i can drop in that I'm willing to wrench on it for lol
i dont want to put a factory motor on, just to take it off,
as i say this I'm already planning on doing it later today mkind you... i just REALLY dont wanna lol
this castle motor pulled the weight i needed it to pull, my other motors arent going to hang with it.
but yeah I've tried everything else so it is kinda narrowed down to it must be the motor

That is an awfully small motor for what you are doing with that truck. That's a 3650 motor right? I would step up to a 3665. Like this one. The 2800kv would be able to handle what you're doing a lot better.

problem solved... still not sure what happened, but i hooked it up to the link again, i set everything to default settings, and its working now???
theres a ghost in my trucks

It happens. Glad you figured it out. I'd still put that bigger motor in that beast 😉

Money!

I'm interested to see what the pole count and kv # show in the data log now.

I'm going to double down on the sensor wire. It probably jolted loose, sent some wonky signals to the ESC. Then the ESC tried to adapt to the wonkiness.

Castle firmware has so much going on in the background. It's too overcomplicated for my simple brain. But when it runs well, it runs well!

Like any computer, sometimes they need a good reboot before giving them the boot. ;) Glad it's working again. :thumbs-up:

I'd be curious to see which motor would pull more. The HW being a 3665, I am betting that extra 2.5mm would help it win. But hard to say.
would the hobbywing mesh with the copperhead10? thats the only reason I'm looking for another castle if I'm being honestly.
no shade on castle, love this motor, and have zero complaints. but i dont want to have to buy another esc,
the sensor cable is shaped differently, castle being flat rectangle and hw being round, i am a huge fan of HW tho, is whats in most of my rigs this rig being the one difference lol
would the hw work fine and just be sensorless since the sensor wire wont fit?

You can run sensorless with it. It should be fine. But if you want to stay sensored you would need to stick with the Castle I think.

The EZRun MAX G3 series motors have a proprietary waterproof sensor/temp cable. There is an adaptor for the G3 motors that allow them to be used with other ESCs though. I think it adds too much wire length to tuck/hide away. I'd go the Castel Creations (CC) route if I had a CC ESC already.
