trouble starting hpi nitro star 15

my friend had an rs4 3 in a tupperware box sitting around and told me to build it. Well, I did and now the motor won't start. He can't remember if it ran before he disassembled it or not because he bought it from a friend when he lived in Japan. It has been sitting less than a year but we can't seem to get it to run. We tried swapping glow plugs with no luck. Made sure it wasn't flooded and did everything else we could think of. If have anyone has an solutions to this then let me know. Input would be great.

Is it turning over at all? Is the glow igniter charged? Is the carb set to factory settings? Is it turning over at all? Is fuel getting to the carb? You haven't really given us a lot of info to work with.

The ignitor is charged. Carb is receiving fuel and is set to factory settings. The engine will not turn over at all. It does have good compression the piston sleeve is properly aligned.

Pull start? Is the one-way slipping?

it was pull start but i had to convert to roto because the pull start recoiled over itself and snapped inside the housing. as far as i know the one-way is not slipping

Clean the carb. Quite possible that it is gummed up from being in storage and fuel is not getting through. You could try stopping up the pipe and turning the motor over a bit to force fuel into the engine. Be careful not to flood it and hydro lock it while doing this.

thats what i was thinking about doin as well. i was gonna completely tear down the motor and clean it tomorrow and hopefully that will help. we'll see thanks for input and ill post back after completion
