So I was running in the dirt this afternoon and I was getting on the throttle pretty hard. I never saw the tree. I just grazed it with my rear wheel. I say graze, but the hit moved the car and was strong enough to break the joint between the chassis and the suspension arm. Lucky for me, my LHS had the part in stock.

By the time I got the part installed it was dark. So I put a light on the car and ran anyway. It was pretty damn cool. All I could see was the beam of light. I'm thinking it might be good to fabricate a more permanent mounting system (I used electrical tape this time.)

Thanks for the links, gents. I'm looking at the thing now... We're gonna needs some air to get all that grass off. :P

....and in less than 1/10 of a second, the car stopped moving. :\

In truth, it was a weird kind of glancing blow. 3/4 of the car passed the tree, but the left-side rear wheel obviously made contact on the inside. Like I said, it broke the joint between the lower suspension-arm and the body. It also bent the pin that the arm pivots on.

Oh well, in the end it was fixable and the car is running again. :)
