I would love to own a large scale truck some day, and I would like to start saving up and all that good stuff BUT id like to hear from you guys, is the xmaxx worth the price tag?

More specifically, for a truck that expensive, would it need replacement parts constantly or any upgrades??

I feel like since its one of traxxas more expensive trucks they "should" put their best parts but I could be wrong!

Would a smaller truck be better for general bashing?? Also I would be sharing this truck with my 7yo son (not sure if I'll buy it when hes 7 but I never know!)

We currently have 2 arrma gorgons converted to brushless as our only bashers, but i like the idea of a gigantic basher lol.

Thanks in advance!

In My opinion the xmaxx is overrated,it's an expensive car for it's perfomance,i don't Say"it's a Bad car"thas car will last you, but for the price You can find, arrma kraton 6s/8s, traxxas xrt, traxxas sledge, arrma outcast 6s/8s,but the most similar to the xmaxx is the red cat vigilante 1/5,the price is similar but it's a little cheaper. This is image of the red cat

I want one. The people here who have one say it's a different experience and they all love it.

I would steer clear of the ultimate edition for 1500. If anything I'd put those on myself the color and way I want.

The Xmaxx is probably my favorite basher. The 8s Outcast is great too, handles better than the xmaxx, better air control. Breaks more often than the xmaxx too though.

In factory form, not the ultimate, it's pretty light and holds up to bashing really well. As with most Traxxas products, the electronics are weak. The factory motor is acceptable but the esc won't last nor will the steering servo. Unless they have updated them, the rear carries are weak. RPM makes a cheap upgrade with bigger bearings.

I think everyone who enjoys bashing should have an Xmaxx. Definately worth the money, at least for me.

Thanks! I'll look into that kne as well

I wouldn't really need a performance based big scale basher thats why, although I really love how the xrt looks, I just want to do light jumps and go all over the place with it lol.
I just saw a post on Facebook of a guy selling an xmaxx unassemle that had all the parts exept electronics and now I have the itch to get one 🤣🤣

I think it is. I read how people says it performance isn’t that good and it blows my mind. The thing flies. There isn’t a lot of monster trucks that’s faster. If any. Certainly those in the same size class.

It handles well, is as tough as nails, and is a hoot to drive. It will require a servo upgrade when the stock one gets weak. And, it will get weak. Other than that, the only thing I’ve done is upgrade the bell crank with an mc2 one while changing the servo. And, put an mc2 chassis brace on mine. I’ve run it hard too and nothing has broken. Not one thing.

I’ve got a box of “upgrades” I bought over time because I listened to the people on how this or that needed upgraded. I sold stuff to buy the upgrades. Yet, I haven’t broken anything yet to put on those upgrades.

That’s my experience with mine. They are indeed expensive but, it’s a lifetime purchase. And, it’s a buy once cry once kind of thing. As stated above, I’d stay away from the ultimate. It was designed to appease the guys saying it needed more metal. However, The buddies and people I know that bought one has broken steering links, hubs, etc…. While those of us that stayed stock has run the balls off of ours with zero issues.

I run mine today. Hard. I wrecked once it and flipped and flopped through the field for 75-100 feet. I run over and righted it and kept on going. It’s a beast.

Alright fellas, another question.

What would be a good price, a steal of a price, and whats too high of a price to pay for a used xmass, assuming its all stock and in the same company condition, used but not beat up??

Thanks in advance!!

You can find xmaxx aprox 800--900 dollars in Ebay, with the original parts or aftermarket parts but the problem someone economics xmaxx hasn't had electronic or the wheels and tires, and the electronics are so expensive.

Current XMAXX price is $1100.

So, you’d rather buy new than rebuild a good one that costed you $600?
Yes. A rebuild of an xmaxx isn't cheap and people tend to beat the crap out of them. You never know what your getting when you buy used and to me, the risk isn't worth saving a few hundred bucks.

that's a heavy truck, 26 pounds. At speed, it could knock over a person like a bowling pin. my friend's dad ran over his rustler on accident and cracked the front control arm. I won't run with them if any show up to a meet
After seeing a baja 5b slap a tmaxx i learned run the same scales together.
