So my buddy just bought a used slayer pro and we are having some issues with it. Engine runs perfect. Starts just fine. But it starts moving as you're trying to start it. Replaced the clutch pads and it's still doing it. It will not shift even after adjusting the screw. Any help would be appreciated. Both of us are new to the game

Either the idle is too high or the spring that goes around the clutch isnt there

are you talking the slipper clutch pads or the engine clutch??
what you describing is usually a case of a broken clutch or spring or the clutch bell bearings are seized or damaged

I'm talkin the engine clutch. Replaced the spring and the two pads. Engine runs fine off ground but the second you put it on ground it dies.

What doesn't shift?....sounds like theres a few minor issues here, you said the clutch spring is on and installed correctly, so the rc is moving under its own idle in that case the idle is too high, you guys probably have the idle cranked to compesate for a rich setting, set the high speed needle back to factory and do the same with the low speed needle, pop off the air filter and make sure ther is no more than a 1mm gap in the carb opening at idle, put the brakes on to make sure it closes at the idle stop

What are the factory settings for the slayer? Same as everything else?

4 on the hsn
Flush with the ring on lsn
And just incase you dont know anybetter "DO NOT TIGHTEN"the needles down just screw them in until they seat

did you check the clutch bell bearings when you replaced the clutch??
