I got her today boys and girls. It was brushless in eleven minutes so shes not waterproof anymore. (didnt know they were till I opened her up)
I can tell you a quick drive out the front tells me it handles great right out of the box. And its a lot bigger than I thought. A LOT bigger.

Yeap, they're huge when sitting next to the crawlers in the pics I've seen, and the RC Car Action monster truck edition mag has a comment that it's really closer to 1/9 scale. What brushless system did you put in them? The front A-arms are rustler so you might have some RPM that will fit, and the tranny is chock full of VXL gears so it should handle the brushless just fine. Man I can't wait for mine to get here, I've got two on order.

I've just got the Venileon in it with the 14 tooth pinion off the 12 turn. I will start sorting it tomorrow when I can get some space. I have an 8.5t Novak but the Venileon is faster, and I have a spare 3.5 but I think that'll be a bit silly, so I'll see how she goes. It powerslides Charlie, very well and is easy to bring it back, almost like an on road....

Yeah that's what I've heard. I'm going to have to build two of them. Our rock crawling comp club, the Ark-La-Micc crawlers, are setting up a spec class for the slash. So I will have to keep one with a stock powertrains and mostly stock suspension parts and stuff. We're running a spec class so that people can buy a slash and compete with us, even if they don't have a tousand bucks to spend on hop ups. I'll also be building a couple to bash around with. The ones that I already have on order are for me girlfriend and I. I was cooking dinner the other night, and here comes my girlfriend, with the new XRC rag in hand. She was reading tha article on the slash, and she pointed to it and said "Can you build me one of these?" Man I was so stoked that she had gone and gotten an RC mag on her own, and was interested enough to start reading it. Needless to say, I ordered her slash before I ordered mine lol. I also bought a Novak GTB/Velocity 6.5 setup for hers, and I'm thinking that's going to be close to where the sweet spot is for power, still fast, yet still refined enough to drive and race while having fun and not being too much power to handle. How do you think this system will do? Man, isn't that body huge, NCNitro is going to have a field day with all that lexan to cover.

The 6.5 should be a good balance of power and torque. Even the 5.5 light might be ok. As I said anything lower would be a waste of a system. The car isnt a lot physically smaller than a 1/8 truggy. In fact if it had the same width tyres as the truggies it'd be the same.....
It must be cool to have a better half thats interested in the same things you are, it must make things a lot easier. I never had that, been single 5 years now.
Thats probably why I have a house full of cars........... Oh the SHAME.

Just in case anyone wants to know, the 1/10 Slash is the same width and a full 3 inches longer than my MBX5R (1/8) So I guess if anyone wanted a brushless 1/8th scale stadium truck then the Slash may technically not be it, but it might as well be.......
