Finally broke down and bought myself a Slash.

My only planned upgrade is to swap the radio gear for a FASST setup with my 3PK.

I do have everything needed to put in a 3S 8000 lipo pack and the Velineon brushless setup in the future just for S&G's.

This sure is one affordable rig for what you get out of the box.

Congrats on the new rig Rob. I hope it gets there in time to race on Saturday.

Congrats Rob!! I love mine and once you start the bashing fun you will love yours just as much. Congrats again!

I am very pleased with this rig.

Most, if not all of the important parts are compatible with my sons Rustler which has the full RPM treatment.

My one and only gripe......

Why does Traxxas include a high current batt connector and then turn around and use crappy ass bullet connectors for the motor leads. They did the same thing with the ERevo. Come on Traxxas, spend a few extra bucks on the motor lead connectors. Even twisting the wires together and covering with electrical tape is better than the bullets.

Congrats.. I was wondering the same thing about the connectors.

I expect to see a Platinum edition or some sort of special edition Slash in the future.

I am replacing the Traxxas connector with Deans and will also be cutting off the bullet connectors and soldering the wires together.

At least 4 of us are going to be doing an on road race with these this Saturday at the local Hobbytown parking lot track. Should be fun and I expect we will be trading lexan a lot.

I'm really looking forward to racing these this weekend. Is everyone running the stock tires?

Stock tires, motor, esc and shocks.

Direct solder of the leads is best.

Dean’s would be the next best if you want to be able to do motor swaps without using a soldering iron.
