Traxxas Raptor R, what is the story??

Now I'm almost interested. I love the look of the arrma big rock 1/10 but the reviews all say tons of repairs and the 223s 4x4 have tons of reported problems. Now if I could put monster truck tires on a 4x4 raptor IF its longer like the big rock or gorgon.......

My new Raptor R Ultimates are supposed to ship tomorrow.
When I get my hand on one, likely early next week.
I will take a look and see if I can tell what it might take to make Monster Raptor R out of one.
How large of a tire are you shooting for.

The clipless bodies are supper nice, but not as friendly to modifying them for raising the bodies up for clearing larger tires.

Tires are 114mm stock.
Traxxas spec is in inches, but 4.5” conversion to mm is 114mm.

Replica 4.5? x 1.7? BFGoodrich® All-Terrain T/A® KO2 tires are designed for SCT wheels with a dual profile outer 2.2? diameter and 3.0? inner diameter. Includes foam inserts. (sold as a pair).

Something like these. I love the raptor look. Most of traxxass bodies look all the same and theyre so boring. I'd love some more realistic looking ones. It's like they are missing out on a entire side market not making a bunch of interchangeable bodies for their rcs.

I have a set of 12mm tires and wheels that came off my Mini-maxx that I could test fit onto a Raptor R.

There is not really any chance of these larger tires ever fitting on a Raptor R.
They would likely be open wheel only applications.
I am not real sure the Mini Maxx Wheels and tires will fit either without some sort of body lift modification involved.
