hi all i originally wanted a losi aftershock and posted in the monster truck section but i saw 1 of my friends jato 3.3 today and this thing moves i just wanted to know how durable they are before i go out and buy one? and is the traxxas 3.3 engine half decent? thanks alot

Where do you plan on running it? If you want to go offroad, don't buy it. On road, it's my favorite truck. I have fun with it there, but if I even enter the grass, it spins wildly out of control. It is capable of going off road, but you're going to need to adjust the suspension, and get different rear tires. As for durability, let's just say it's not extremely strong. I have one, and at about 15 mph, I hit a little rock, and it broke the A-Arm. I upgraded to RPM and it seems to be fine now, but I lost my sway bars.

Off road it isn't bad if you run the right tires on it. But the right "off road" tires will last about 1 tank on-road. They need to be soft compound and very aggressive tread to hook up at all in the grass. I have 17mm adapters on mine and I run 1/8 buggy wheels tires. I have a set of badlands for off road and pro-line road rage for on. The 1/8 buggy wheels/tires give me a bit more ground clearance than stock, but even so, it spins out wildly if I'm not easy on the gas, and that's with the old cast head 2.5 in it.

In grass that is more than a two inches or so tall, it really doesn't do well either. It floats and spins tires, but doesn't go anywhere.

It's a fun truck to have for a basher if it isn't your only truck. I run mine with street tires at a skate park and it holds up pretty well, except for the rear shock tower. I've busted 4 of those stupid things already this year on very small roof top landings. Wish RPM made one for it.

With RPM arms and front bumper, it's pretty tough. The only thing I've busted with any frequency is the rear tower.

I also run it early in the spring and late in the fall when the grass is short. It flat out screams! But, when the grass grows and the skatepark is full of kids, it stays on it's shelf while I go beat the snot out of my aftershock and savage.

definitely go with rpm arms. i have slid mine in so many curbs and havent had a problem with my a arms at all
